Toxic fallout and you!
By Don Parmesan
So, a nasty toxic fallout has fallen over the landscape you and your fellow colonist inhabit. What can you do? Here in this guide we will tell you how to pull through this tragity! (Discalimer: This guide does not apply to primitive colonies.)

And to be honest it's more simple to survive than you think.

Part 1: Pause your game and make a plan.
The very moment you get that dreaded notification, immediately press the space bar and create a game plan. The best advice I can give is:

-Create a zone that restricts animals and colonist to be under a roof.
-Make paths with the roof zone between different facilities (freezer, stockpile ect.) if they are not already connected.
-Make a large roofed off area and a sunlamp for a rice farm. This is only needed if your farms are outdoors and can't roof over them.
Part 2: Endure the fallout.
If you followed part 1 then you have the basics to what you need to survive. But there are still things to be done. If you need wood, steel or compenents desprately, you can still send a couple of colonist out for a short while. Make sure you keep an eye on the "toxic buildup", that's why the animals around you are dead. I advise they only stay out until their toxic buildup is at around 20%.

Part 3: The fallout is over, now what?
If you manage to survive, then congrats. Now that the fallout is over with, you'll need to clean up the mess you made. So take down the emergency rice farm and roof zones and make sure your animals and colonist are free to go outside. You better hope your main farms are doing fine and you can live until harvest because every living thing on the map that was not under a roof is now a skeleton. Don't worry, eventually wildlife will spawn and grass will re-grow.

So aside from cleaning any bone piles near your home I have no further advice, happy trails.

You could just make a caravan and get outta the map onto ur other emegency base until it ok. I keep one guy there just to keep it safe and the auto defenses.. they know what to do.

As someone who relied on wildlife for food on my latest playthrough, I recommend hunting all wildlife as soon as the fallout hits to ensure food lasts while the fallout is in progress.

Just a few tip for those who don't fully understand the entire guide, or just need more helpful info

(Was also expecting a Fallout joke about making a big vault)

1: I suggest avoiding tearing down roofs once it's over, saves you time and they are handy in case you get another Fallout event

2: The toxicity builds up, so you get enough time to set up walls that can support roofs, just don't let your guy stand outside for too long without a roof

3: If you got a fully functioning Mountain base, you might still run into problems, but you are mostly safe, that is if you don't get extremely unlucky and a hive spawns within your base driving your colonists outside

4: If you are doing Tribal gameplay, just roof up every spot that is needed, and assign a zone that tells people only to walk within that zone (Which you installed a roof upon), same applies for your other gameplay that isn't tribal, you don't have to go outside, all you need to do is wait out the fallout and humour yourself with raiders dying out there, while also wanting to keep an eye on your food output from your farm if you quickly got those Sun lamps in your research (Applies only to tribal peeps), if you don't have sun lamps, well you aren't gonna do so well, unless you make your way around that and quickly scavenge for dead animals outside.

Tribal games can sometimes squeeze through by butchering the map's wildlife as it succumbs to the poison (or if they already have stocked food), otherwise form a caravan and abandon the site. (Likewise volcanic winter)

Toxic Fallout is basically auto-game-over if you have a tribal society.

You make sure the animals have access to the food storage, for the first question I don't understand.
