How to install Workshop mods to Starbound

Running into trouble trying to install mods from the workshop? Well, the solution is frustratingly simple.

And now...

This guide assumes that you understand that in order to install the mod, you need to press the "subscribe" button. If you didn't, well, now you know.


The solution is so easy, it'll make you want to facepalm.

...The solution is....

Okay, so first off you need to make sure that every mod you want is subscribed to.

Second, open the game.


Third, Alt+Tab out of the game, and go to your Downloads page in the Steam program.
Click install under the item labeled "Workshop Files".

Wait for the files to finish installing.

And you're done!


If the files don't show up when you click the gear icon, just close and re-open the game.

Столкнулся с этой проблемой и смог найти решение. Зайдите в Steam/steamapps/workshop/content и выберите папку с номером старбаунда (адрес страницы в стиме. Это 211820). Далее в папке будут номера модов с мастерской стим (также адрес). Просто кидайте содержимое папок с цифрами модов (content.pak) в C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Starbound\mods. Извините за грамматику, я сам русский и довольно плохо говорю на английском.

Faced with this problem and was able to find a solution. Go to Steam/steamapps/workshop/content and select the folder with the starbound number (the address of the page in the steam. This is 211820). Next, the folder will contain the numbers of mods from the steam workshop (also the address). Just throw the contents of the folders with the numbers of mods (content.pak) into C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Starbound\mods. Sorry for the grammar, I am Russian myself and speak English quite poorly.

And its still doesn't work. Tried everything that was written in the comments, tried just waiting out and this piece of junk still doesn't work properly.

@elijahrom627 You need a mod that adds slots in the character selection screen. Starbound doesn't support extra races out of the box.

I want to use a mod that includes some custom races and I have it installed but the races are not showing up in the character creation screen. How do I fix it?

Well, when I go to downloads.. The whole page is empty. There is no "Workshop files" to click anywhere in download area. -.-
