Skill Requirements and Character Location

This guide shows the requirement for each skill on the game, and where you can find more easily each character to play as ally or enemy, to fulfill those requirements.

Introduction

As shown in the title, this guide covers only the skill requirements and where yoiu can find the desired character, specially the non-playable ones, in the Dream Log.

I was having a hard time trying to find specific characters to complete my skill set, and to level them up to complete the gallery. I haven't found any guide with this information, so I decided to share the everything I collected in this guide.

Skill Table Explanation

The next section contains the table with all skills for each character, and the requirement to learn those skills.

There are six types of requirements, as explained below:

• !

  Get a certain number of assists in a single battle. You must be playing with the character.
  
  

• KO

  Get a certain number of Knock Outs in a single battle (unless specified). You must be playing with the character.
  
  

• Strong Enemy

  Defeat a certain number of strong enemies. You must be playing with the character.
  
  

• Special Kizuna Attack

  Unleash a Special Kizuna Attack with that character in a single battle. the character must be in your party (note that you cannot be controing the character), and must take part of the attack.
  
  

• Defeat

  Defeat the character a certain number of times. It must be in the enemy party.
  
  

• Crew Level

  Reach the specified Crew level for that character. You must play with the charcter, or it must be in your party.

Also, for the Combo Enhancements:
(S) - Standard Attack
(R) - Ranged Attack

Note:

Depending on the order that you acquire the skill posters, the skills may change for each character. For example: in the list below, "Meat for Body +" belongs to Franky, and "Meat for Body ++" belongs to Sentomaru. In another playthrough, those skills are switched. "Meat for Body ++" belongs to Franky, and "Meat for Body +" belongs to Sentomaru.

I could also confirm that the skills may be switched, but the base skill remains the same. This way, you will never be stuck with a higher level skill without the lower level available to learn first.

Playable Character Location

In this section I will list one location on the Dream Log where you can find more easily the desired character, and the faction you must choose.

Only a few playable character have skills that requires you to play with them as ally or as enemy. I will only list the location for those with that requirement.

The table contains the name of the island. On the section "Dream Log Locations", I will mark the location of the island on the Dream Log map.

Some character have 100% of chance to appear on the location listed below, when their names are shown on the faction selected. For the others, start the map, and check if they appear right on the beginning. If thats not the case, just restart the map until it appears.

Hints and Tips

Assists

Those are required to learn some skills, and to raise the crew level of the characters.

You get assists in the following situatiions:

• Your ally comes to assist you after you finish the combo and press the attck button one more time. The KO's of that attack counts as assists.
  
• Every KO during a Kizuna Rush counts as assists.

The main character receives all the assist points after the battle. The allies only receives the assists from the attacks which they have participated.

The most efficient way to get more assists is to enter in Kizuna Rush soon, and extend its effect as much as you can. Extra damage is not really needed. Most of the weak enemies are killed with a simple combo.

To maximize the efficience of the Kizuna Rush, you can use those skills:

• Stylish : Increases the Kizuna Rush Duration
  
• Battlefield Charisma: Increase the Kizuna Gauge easily

Strong Enemies

Some skills requires the character to defeat a certain number of Strong Enemies. Strong Enemies are only the characters on the enemy team. Generic giants does not couns as strong enemies.

If you have to defeat a great number of enemies (Jimbei needs to defeat 15 to learn Warrior's Wisdom ++) I suggest you to go to the "Heroes of the Coliseum" island. There you will fight many waves of enemies. Its a great place to level up too.

KO

You can get about 2000 KO easly on most of the islands of the Dream Log, if they are not timed. If you are having problems, I would reccomend the island "Heroes of the Coliseum" again.

Special Kizuna Attack

Some skills requires you to unleash the Special Kizuna Attack up to 5 times at most in a single battle. It is easy to do on any map.

Defeat enemies to raise you Kizuna Rush gauge, and as soon as it is filled, activate Kizuna Rush, and unleash the special attack immediately. Don't aim the crowd, just waste it. That way, you will still have a large number of enemies to build up your Kizuna Rush gauge again, and repeat the process.
Use "Battlefield Charisma" to increase the Kizuna Gauge easily.

I made this guide based on my own experience of the game. If you encounter any mistakes, please, let me know, I will check and correct it as soon as I can.

@ramonpontes You've mistaken with the skill table (playable characters) Shanks has "Battlefield charisma" instead of ace. Idk if there's more mistakes in that part tho I just found that out while playing.

I kind of mentioned that in the guide: "start the map, and check if they appear right on the beginning. If thats not the case, just restart the map until it appears."

Some characters have a very low chance of appearing, because they belong to a group that has many other characters. This is the case for the East Blue Pirates.

By the way, you might want to point out that characters are random. I was looking for Kuro, and he didn't appear until my third attempt at the level, even after switching to Buggy to hopefully reduce the pool. As far as East Blue Pirates Counter goes, new characters won't appear during the mission, so if the person you're looking for isn't on the starting map, you might as well quit and restart until they are.

If you choose CP9 as you faction, there is a chance that any of their members appears in your party. If Blueno don't appear at the beginning, you can quit to the Dream Log and start the map again. Eventually Blueno will show up in your party.
