Rimworld - Freezers

Refridgeration is important to stockpile your perishables and feed your people and pets through effects such as blight and acid rain. There are many different styles you can use depending on the biome you are playing.

Video contains tips and tricks for building your own freezer. I made this video a while ago but it does not require updating yet.

Just the basics

Outside Stockpile

• Food items will spoil fastest if left outside (unless artic terrain)

Fridge

• Requires 2 Degrees Celcius for Refridgerated Status
  
• Will extend the life of perisables but will still spoil in time

Freezer

• Requires 0 Degrees Celcius for Frozen Status
  
• Recommended -4 or lower for wamer areas (or adjust for heat waves)
  
• Perisables will never spoil
  
• Dual freezers can seperate high access form quick access goods

Top Tips

• Minimise doors as heat enter the freezer every time door opened
  
• Do not use freezer as throughfare to another area due to heat loss
  
• Auto doors have faster close times (light materials wood and metal, Stone is slow)
  
• Add an orbital trade beacon for selling surplus
  
• Dual Airconditioners maintain tempreture faster but one will do the job if power is limited

Edit the stockpiles, refrigerate items only in freezer storage. Then ban them from the other stoclkpiles so they always come here.

Hey, so I make the freezer, and set it to storage, it works most of the time. But sometimes people store building materials and clothing in the freezer.

Any help?

Hi There... Check-out my ScreenShots of the (Apartment) on my base to see a 1x1 Freezer with a StockpileSetup/Food/All meal's .... hopefuly i setup the scrnshts corretly! ... ^_^
