Description
A 1:1 replica of the French super-dreadnought battleship, Bretagne in her 1944 configuration

[Brief History]
Commissioned in 1916, these class of battleships were the latest in French naval design, being their first "super" dreadnoughts.
During WWI, they never fired any shots in anger, however they were mainly used in the Mediterranean theater. During WWII; however, they saw some more action. In the British attack on Mer-el-Kebir in 1940, the class' namesake Bretagne was severely damaged and later sunk. Sister ship Provence was also damage, though managed to escape to Toulon in France. There she was scuttled and refloated a few times, until 1949, when she was finally scrapped. The last surviving ship, the Lorraine, served in the Mediterranean theater for most of the war, and was finally decommissioned in 1953.

I would be so happy to see a Richie on DW, I got the blueprint of what should be accepted as the Richelieu of DW, half way there it seems.

I'll try that when I finish the Évreux (fictional Alsace) which got 2 quad 16", 4 triple 6", 2 quad 130mm and 6 double 100mm, still thinking about whether I put double 37mm or quad 40mm bofors I had on my Richie.
My goal is to make her less massive, with better guns and more stability, she will also get a 50m long engine, surely 11 meters wide and 5 or more meters tall so you could imagine the power of that beast.

Oh and I may already have downloaded your Algérie, une petite bête qui massacre les navires ennemis ! :p

Well, let's hope..France is a bit lacking in the campaign lol. I've built A LOT of ships for DW, though as far as France is concerned I have the Algerie cruiser done as well :)

Er, no, what I meant was the compartments you have below the waterline may be too big. It would be like a floating a balloon with a brick on top...wouldn't end well! Issues with turning are usually caused by the rudder not being on the same height level as the center of mass. So if the COM is 4 blocks below the waterline, your rudder needs to be 4 blocks below the waterline. In terms of armor, it depends on what youre looking for. DW ships like this have a specific armor scheme that works well ising realistic guns. If youre tyring to compete with normal super-death-guns than I dont have much advice lol.

J'ai hâte de voir l'Alsace alors! :D

Okay, well I could tell just by your pics that your ship would be in DW, since it's a beautiful looking ship, I want to get such level of design lmao

Well I did got some lead at the bottom of the keel, I also got 50% of the superstructure in alloy.
And for the buoyancy, you're telling me that I need to get rid of air pumps that are below the waterline to get it higher ?
Also, the main problem is that when I turn, this fat beauty lift until it flips and sink, that's why my new design (that is like a Alsace, but a fictional design with different secondaries and quad 16") will be less heavier, though the hull with superstructure still weight 11000 without being armored, seems I'm good for designs and guns but not for stable ships that can work normally.

So yeah, my Richie became a big fortress

@Delta, yes you are correct! I had changed it to Bretagne since I built it for the DW campaign, and we normally use ship classes rather than individual ship names.

Regarding your Richelieu, c'est beau! It's hard to tell from the screenshots, but it may be that you need more lead in the keel, or the superstructure is too heavy and needs to made of alloy instead of metal. Also it could be that there is too much armor above the waterline, or maybe the compartments below the waterline are too bouyant. These are things that I generally run into, hope it's somewhat helpful! :D

Sorry but this is the Lorraine in her refit, not the Bretagne. Still a wonderful ship you made, I myself made Richelieu, but I have HUGE problems with stability, and she's heavy, very heavy.

1/10 it needs a frog statue.

Glad you like it! I try to do stuff that's different and not common, hence why I started with pre-dreadnought era ships. If you want more like this, check the Dangerous Waters (http://www.fromthedepthsgame.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?fid=137) campaign forums for more ships, since thats where most of my stuff has been in recently :D

Nice! Finally something different from weak japanese warships on the workshop!

Eh, only took a week on and off. I remember back in the day when these things took me close to a month lol.

Dang, I really don't have the time to do THIS amount of work in FtD! Keep it up!
