"What is Warframe?"
Warframe is a MMOTPS developed by Digital Extremes (DE is the acronym), You are a race known as Tenno, ancient warriors who mastered gun and blade aswell as various other weapons, Tenno are also highly acrobatic and posses ninja-like movement techniques such as wall jumping and hanging onto walls.
"Starting Out"
When you first begin Warframe (after loging into your account), you will be treated to a opening cutscene of space, followed by a voice, this voice is known as the Lotus, soon after you find yourself on Earth as these bulky soldier-looking entities, these are known as the Grineer, are standing around waiting for orders, soon a Grineer ship lands, inside is Grineer Captain, Vor, who immediately takes over the mission of capturing the Tenno in his cryosleep, after Vor detaches the Tenno and places a strange device, the Tenno finally awakes, which is when you will be given a choice between 3 starter frames

The starter frames are:

Excalibur:

This is Excalibur, a master of gun and blade.

No matter your style, Tenno, the Excalibur Warframe is a formidable choice.

—Lotus

Excalibur is the first of these 3 frames, he is considered the jack of all trades frame, he has 100 health and shields (300 each at rank 30) and an armor rating of 225, he has a low energy pool, capping at 150 energy when maxed out.

Abilities:

Passive: Swordsmanship
Excalibur gains +10% attack speed and damage Swords, Dual Swords, Nikanas and Rapiers

Slash Dash: Excalibur dashes towards an enemy with his exalted blade and deals 100 damage (250 at max rank)

Radial Blind: Excalibur holds his Exalted Blade high and flashes the enemies' eyes, blinding them in an AoE (Area of Effect) and opening up to finishing blows, the blind radius is 8 meters (25 at max rank) and the duration is 7 seconds (15 at max rank)

Radial Javelin: Excalibur slams his Exalted Blade into the ground as 5 (12 at max rank) Javelins impale enemies and do 500 (1000 at max rank) damage in an AoE (Area of Effect)

Exalted Blade: Excalibur summons his Exalted Blade as he is able to hurt enemies with waves of energy from the sword, the ability costs 25 energy to cast and drains 2.5 energy per second, doing a slide attack will act like a mini Radial Blind and blind enemies in close proximity

Mag:

This is Mag, a force to be reckoned with.

Mag is a team player, Tenno, and a worthy addition to any squad.

—Lotus

Mag is the second option, Mag boasts 75 HP (225 at rank 30) and 150 shields (450 at Rank 30), her armor rating is 65, meaning she's very squishy, like Excalibur, she has 100 energy (150 at Rank 30)

Abilities:

Passive: Magnetic Attraction: When Mag bulletjumps, all nearby pickups (Health, Energy and resources) will attract to Mag

Pull: Mag pulls enemies towards her in a 15 meter radius (25 at max rank) and deals 100 (300 at max rank) Magnetic damage, enemies killed by Pull also have a 10% (25% at max rank) chance to drop energy orbs to replenish the energy you used for Pull

Magnetize: Mag creates a bubble around an enemy that is 2 meters (4 at max rank) wide and any projectile shot at the bubble will deal damage to the target, after 10 seconds (15 at max rank), the bubble will dissapear and if the target has died, it will destablize and deal 50 (300 at max rank) Blast damage to enemies in a 5 meter (15 at max rank) radius

Polarize: Polarize creates a wave of energy that travels outward at 7.5 m/s (meters per second) and deals 250 (400 at max rank) damage to the enemy's shield and armor, the damage done is then multiplied by 1 (2.5 at max rank) and stored as shards, the shards could be attracted by Magnetize and to increase their damage further, enemies' defence will then explode and deal 1000 Blast damage (max rank) to all other enemies in the 5 meter (8 at max rank) radius, additionally, Ally Tenno's shields will be restored by 250 (400 at max rank) if they are close to Mag when using Polarize

Crush: Mag magnetizes the bones of enemies within 8 meters (18 at max rank), suspending them in the air and crushing their bodies, dealing 800 (1500 at max rank) Magnetic damage, enemies effected by Magnetize take an additional 800 (1500 at max rank) damage

Volt:

This is Volt, a versatile warrior.

Volt's arsenal is powerful and electrifying. Handle with care, Tenno.

—Lotus

Volt is your third and final option for your starting Warframe, Volt boasts 100 HP (300 at max rank) and 150 shields (450 at max rank), like Mag, his armor rating is very poor, coming it at 15, also like Mag and Excalibur, his Energy starts at 100 (150 at max rank)

Abilities:

Passive: Static Discharge: As Volt travels along the ground, he will build up damage, capping at 1000 stored damage, which will then be used upon your next attack, the damage is Electricity

Shock: Volt shoots a bolt of lightning from his hand at at enemy, dealing 75 (200 at max rank) Electricity damage, Shock also chains to 2 (5 at max rank) other enemies in 7 (15 at max rank) meters, the range at which Shock will not hit is irrelevant, as Shock as infinite range

Speed: Volt inflicts a melee speed, reload speed and movement speed buff to him and nearby allies within 15 (25 at max rank) meters, the speed of your melee and movement will be boosted by 10% (50% at max rank) and your reload speed will be increased by 8% (17% at max rank), the buff last for 5 seconds (10 seconds at max rank)

Electric Shield: Volt deploys an electric sheidl that blocks projectiles, if a Tenno shoots through this shield, they will gain a 50% Electricity damage bonus alongside a 200% critical damage bonus, the shield last for 10 (25 at max rank) seconds, additionally, Volt can pick up the shield and move forward with it, he is limited to his sidearm and it drains 5 energy per second + 1 energy for every step Volt takes

Discharge: Volt sends a shockwave that reaches out to 12 (20 at max rank) meters, enemies hit by the shockwave will be dealt 300 (450 at max rank) damage.

Personal note: I would strongly recommend Excalibur over Mag and Volt, his kit is basic to understand and simple, Mag and Volt are highly complex frames which i can't go into enough detail in this guide out of fear of confusing newbies, if you want an honest opinion, pick Excalibur
"So I've chosen my starter Warframe, what do I do next?"
After you complete the opening sequence, you will be required to complete the questline "Vor's Prize", simply put, it's an establishment quest to get you familiar with Warframe's mechanics, so I will go over the Warframe mechanics

Damage types:

Weapons have 3 distinct damage types, each with their own status effect (or proc as it's commonly refered as)

Impact : Impact's status effect staggers enemies for a brief second

Puncture : Puncture's Status effect reduces damage dealt by 30% for 6 seconds

Slash Slash's Status effect causes the target to bleed and do damage over time for 6 seconds

Personal note: Slash weapons in Warframe generally reign supreme, however, there are some weapons with the other 2 damage types that work well, so don't just use Slash weapons

Warframe has 3 factions to fight against, each with their own enemy types and weakness

Factions:

there are 3 enemy factions in Warframe, those being:

Grineer : Grineer are heavy armored targets, Puncture is the best damage type to use against them

Corpus Corpus are like the Tenno in a sense that they have shields, Impact damage is most effective against their shields, Impact suffers slightly against their actual health

Infested Infested are flesh targets, Slash is the best option here, Impact damage on Infested enemies suffers no damage decrease

Personal note: Infested are generally CQC combatants, so stay at range for most of them

Modding:

As you play Warframe, you will pick up mods for your weapon and Warframe, leveling up Warframes increase their health, shields, energy and their abilities, but they're pre-determined, so the real way to mod abilities and Warframes is to the use mods that increase various parts of them, also, some Warframes have symbols in their mod slots, if you select a matching mod with a symbol and insert it there, the cost of the mod will be halved.
Leveling up weapons only increases their mod space, not their damage or accuracy.
Warframes and Weapons at max rank only have 30 points, but there are 2 ways to increase points for modding, such as:

Aura Mods:

Aura mods are special types of mods that give Warframes passives or affect enemies, they also go by the polarity rule, so if the polarity in the aura slot matches the aura mod's polarity, the amount of extra points you get to use double, meaning more mod points

Where to find: Alerts

Orokin Reactors and Catalysts:

Reactors and Catalysts are items you equip on your Warframe, Weapon, Sentinel, Companion, etc.
They take your Warframe or Weapon's mod points from 30 to 60, making them very useful items

Where to find: Gift of the Lotus alerts, Sorties, In-game Market
"How do I do all the fancy movement stuff?"
Movement is the Tenno's ally, from the ever-simplistic double jump to our dear old friend bulletjump, Movement will keep your Warframe alive if their armor isn't so great

Basic Controls:

Yes Tenno, we will be going over the basic movement functions, perhaps you're new to PC gaming in general, who knows?, but anyway

To move around, simply used WASD

To crouch, press Ctrl

To jump, Press the space bar

To sprint, run in any direction and hold Shift, you can bind it to toggle sprint on and off in the options menu

To Dodgeroll, simply tap Shift

To look around, move the mouse, you can adjusts the sensitivity in the options menu

To shoot and zoom in, left click to shoot your weapon and right click to zoom, you can toggle the zoom to be held in the options menu

Advanced movement:

Anyone can walk and look around, what makes the Tenno special that I had to write that basic control section? You shall now find out.

While against a wall, press the Spacebar and one of the 4 directional keys to jump in said direction, additionaly, you can walljump diagonaly

While running, press and hold Ctrl to slide, you will gain some momentum, additionaly, if you fall from very high, your Warframe will make a small animation, to cancel the animation, hold shift to land on the ground while sliding

While in the air, press space to double jump, additionaly, if you fall off a platform, you can jump once to try to get back on

While Crouching, press space and look in any direction to preform a bullet jump, you will jump very high or far depending on where you look

While jumping on a wall, press and hold Right click to wall latch for several seconds

Personal notes: Movement is a big part of Warframe, especially if the Warframe has a below-average sprint speed, try to master Bulletjump and sliding
"What is Mastery Rank?"
If you played a couple of the nodes in public, you may notice that people have numbers next to their name, that is a Mastery Rank, Mastery Rank allows you to access more content of the game, such as weapons and the Rhino Warframe.

To earn Mastery Rank EXP, (MR as it shall now be referred as) you could do 3 things

1: Level up weapons, Each weapon can go up to Rank 30, and gives 100 MR EXP per level, so to do the math for you
100 x 30 = 3 000 MR EXP

2: Level up Warframes, Like Weapons, Warframes also give MR EXP for every level, however, Warframes give 200 MR EXP per level, once again, i shall do the math for you
200 x 30 = 6 000 MR EXP

3: Complete Junctions, if you are reading this guide, you probably joined with the SotR update (Specters of the Rail), Warframe has various planets to unlock, to unlock them, you must complete a Junction, Each junction gives 1000 MR EXP

Personal Note: the only MR that people will say is important is MR12, why that is, I will save for the next guide
End
If you've read to the end of this guide, congradulations, you've understood the basics of Warframe, of course, if you're a Warframe Veteran who read this guide, feel free to comment about extra information I may have missed, I will see you guys next time for the next guide, 'Till then, keep on playing!

(This guide is not fully complete seeing as I will add pictures, but otherwise, it's 99% complete)

Just to clarify what I said before, Bungie does NOT classify Destiny as a "MMOFPS" but as a "Shared-World Shooter" that incorporates role-playing and massively multiplayer online game (MMO) elements. I think that Warframe and Destiny share the same kind of genre.

Solo does not mean its offline, online or mean it requires internet or not. solo defines as a one player playable game.
