Hidden Object Locations (With Spoiler Tags)

Canny can't find that last secret item? This guide explains where to find the hidden objects in Scrap Garden and how to reach them. Includes spoiler tags in case you just need a hint and not an exact location.

Introduction

This guide will (hopefully) explain where the hidden items in Scrap Garden are located. There are eight different hidden bonuses to find; each unlocks its own achievement.

Some are quite easy to find, while others requiring a bit more hunting. The hunt is half the fun, so I have formatted this guide in such a way that you can get a little or as much information about each item’s location as you want (What chapter/area it is in, it’s specific location in that area, and a step-by-step explanation how to reach it).

Ready? Let’s go:

Photographer (Camera)

What level is it in? Chapter One, in the open city area.
Where is its specific location? In the front right corner of the map (based on your starting position near the elevator), somewhere up high.
How to get to it: Find the building with the red “power” banners to the right of the elevator. On the side of that building closest to the elevator, there is scaffolding you can use to climb to the roof. Climb it, then go across the roof to the far side and jump up on the smaller roof to the right. You should be able to see the camera across the road and reach it with a well-timed double jump.

Early Bird (Alarm Clock)

What level is it in?Chapter Two, in the basement.
Where is its specific location?Behind a crumbling wall.
How to get it:After speaking with K1PER, Canny will head to the basement to start the generator. There is a locked door that you will need to find the key for. Once you do find the key, Canny will fall through the floor into an even deeper part of the basement. Go up two flights of stairs and enter the large room to the right (With some sort of steam turbine in it). To the left of the turbine, there is a crumbling wall. Throw a box or barrel at it to break the wall and collect the clock.

Geek (Rubik’s Cube)

What level is it in?Chapter Three, in the open desert area.
Where is its specific location? Above the cave entrance.
How to get to it: From your starting location, continue walking forward (and jumping, if necessary), keeping the edge of the cliff on your right side until you cannot go any further. On your left should be the gray boulders that make up the cave entrance. Scales these rocks to reach the top and the Rubik’s cube.

Think Different (MP3 Player)

What level it is in?Chapter Four, in the first open grassy area.
Where it its specific location?Hidden behind a rock formation very near the start position.
How to get it: From your starting location, head to the right (keeping the edge of the water on your right side) until you reach a tan rock formation. Jump up on the rock and continue forward until you find two grassy ledges in front of you; drop down and turn around; the MP3 player should tucked into a nook in the side of the rock.

Let It Snow (Snow Globe)

What level is it in?Chapter Five, in the first snowy canyon/ice floe area.
Where is its specific location?High up on a rock spire just past some ice floes.
How to get it: Follow the path until you reach the cabin and the first set of ice floes. After crossing the ice, the snow globe is located high up on the first rock spire to the right (you might be able to see it from the cliffs before you cross). Fight your way past the wolves until your reach the backside of the rock. There is a trail of red crystals winding up the side that you can follow to reach the top (or just mountain goat your way up by jumping continuously against the side). Grab the snow globe then enjoy the view from the top of the world.

Booga Boo (Jack-o-Lantern)

What level is it in?Chapter Six, in the first open swamp area.
Where is its specific location? On a piece of floating debris in the middle of the water, just before reaching the manor.
How to get it: From your starting position, take the bridge to the left to reach the next island. From here, the bridge to get to the manor should be to the right. But instead of turning to go to the manor, go forward onto the wooden pier and then turn right. There should be a pumpkin floating on some debris in the water (a barrel containing industrial waste?). Performa a double-jump across the water to reach it. The platform is slightly underwater, but Canny can stand in shallow water without shorting out.

A Hint (Note Card)

What level it is in?Chapter Seven, in the Energy Lab.
Where is its specific location?To the right of the teleporter at the end of the chapter.
How to get it:After speaking to K1PER about the dragon and retrieving the green crystal, do not enter the teleporter. Instead, go to the right of the teleporter. There will be a piece of paper floating midair. Collect it to unlock “A Hint”.

5C0UT (The Joystick)

This one is very different than the other hidden objects and a lot of fun to figure out. You will need to find all of the other bonus items before you can begin.

How to get it:
1) First, go to the item shelf from the main menu (Select “Bonus”).
2) Go through each item and examine them closely; make note of any markings and numbers find. You will need it later.
3) You have the code, now what to do with it? If you are stumped, check out the chapter selection screen. The first letter of each chapter title should give you A HINT… *cough, cough* (The anagram only works in the English translation, unfortunately).
4) Can’t find the site? Check the back of the Note Card (the one that unlocks the “A Hint” achievement).
5) Go to: www.onlyforrobots.com
6) You will be greeted by a CAPTCHA that requires you to prove that you ARE, in fact, a robot. Thankfully, you have that special robot code written down (you wrote it down, right?).
7) Translate the code by entering the appropriate numbers in the text field and then click “I Am a Robot”.
8) If you got the CAPTCHA correct, you will be taken to page written entirely in binary. But we are robots, so we can read that no problem, right?
9) If you are a little rusty on the binary, copy and paste it into a binary-to-text translator to get the secret message.
10) It reads: Enter 5C0UT in the arcade machine.
11) Now all you need to do is play the arcade game in the city. When it prompts you to enter a name for the high score (It doesn’t matter what score you get), type “Five-C-Zero-U-T” and hit enter.
12) When you exit the arcade game, an old-school game controller will appear off to the side for you to collect.

Closing

Congratulations! You now have all of the secret items that can be found in Scrap Garden.

The developers supposedly hid a couple of Easter Eggs in the game, too. So if you want, you can try hunting for those, too (For example, there is an open window in the City that leads to an old friend).

How do I translate the mp3 binary? I think achievement 42 is hidden there.

You can get it in the very first level, before you get your generator back and you are running on solar power.

Simply walk into one of the shady areas (under trees and such) and let you power drain completely. You will die and unlock the achievement.
