Looked more difficulty than it was. On first inspection I thought the white walls behind the glass were going to come into play. Ended up being more simple than that.

Wow, your reply showed up in my inbox.
Have you played Portal Two single player? Glados destroys like a thousand companion cubes. I agree they're more suitable for the situations you describe, but why constrict yourself to imaginary rules? For this map, one companion and one normal would help remove a bit of confusion and frustration.
