Why Terror Birds

There are MANY reasons to get yourself a Terror Bird but im going to go over the 3 main ones.

#1. Gotta go fast!
If your looking for a fast mount the Terror Bird is one of the best when it comes to the smaller tames, and with a saddle that only requires lvl 30 to unlock you don't have to wait too long for the speed you need.


#2. Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger.
Imagine a Raptor that could do everything you wish a raptor could do, deal more damage, go faster, just be generally cooler. well the Terror Bird does all that and more! Though the Raptor is a valuable early tame the Terror Bird is just about a DIRECT UPGRADE!

And probably the main reason most people tame a Terror Bird....

#3. GLIDE



That glide is the MOST HELPFUL THING I have ever had on a small mount! A beautiful glide that doesn't burn stamina as fast as you'd expect that can go MUCH FARTHER than you'd expect! plus that Sweet, Sweet Feeling when you escape something with that glide off a cliff could make this worth it all on its own.

Combat Potential

In this segment I will cover and compare the stats and other abilities of common "Skirmishers". (for the purpose of this guide "Skirmishers" will refer to something fast, not too hard to tame, and That can dish out a lot of damage but not something you want taking a lot of damage)

I am going to use the Terror Bird, Raptor, Araneo (the spider :3), and.... idk.... the Pachy? yeah, shure, the Pachy.

Raptor Replacement

Heres where im going to get most of the hate. (if any)

The Terror Bird is just about a perfect replacement for the Raptor, Its Statisticly Better in almost every way.

now you may be asking yourself
Self, what does he mean by almost? is he hiding something important from us?
No im not, the only 2 stats the raptor beats the Terror Bird in is weight (Raptor has 140 to the Terror Bird's 120) and base walk speed (Raptor with 480 to the Terror Bird's 255.4) but the Terror bird beats it in run speed (domesticated Terror Bird sprint is 1198.5 to a domesticated Raptor's 1104)

but you may be asking yourself
Self, what about damage! The Terror Bird only has 16 base damage while the Raptor has 15! That can't make it that much better!
But it does. Every boost to damage will boost more and more of that making the gap between the Terror Bird's and the Raptor's damage wider and wider even if the same amount of levels are pumped into damage.

But self! what about the raptor's foo-

Combat Strategies (A.K.A How to be MLG) ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Ok, now that you have your Terror Bird you have to get into the right mindset for this mount. You have to be as cancerous as humanly possible. We have to go back. Back to 2011. Back to MLG Compilations. I'm going to show how to make those MLG playz and get into FAZE tribe in no-time ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

STEP #1. Go fast
Build that radical speed so u can 420 blaze it at the speed of sound
(Note: if ur not going so fast that your shot into space then ur doing it wrong you skrublord)



STEP #2. Damn Dirty Damage
Unless you can slam-jam a Raptor off the face of the earth in 0.7 seconds ur not gonna cut it, boost that damage until you get to a level of power that can only be described as....




STEP #3.
Ok m8, u have the Dunkin' damage, you have the speed, So lets test ur pro skillz with this SIMULATED SCENARIO



Let's say there's a cliff. No prob, just turn around.

NANI!? It's a wild giga! and it's locked on you!

OH LAWD HE COMIN'! AND THERE'S MORE GIGAS IN THE CANYON!

Now let's pause gamers. Tell me, what do you do in this situation. Do you:
A) Juke the giga & run away.
B) Glide off the cliff.
or C) LEEEROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOY JEEEEEEEEEENKIIIIIIIIIINS!

If you chose A, you're too practical & don't focus on flashy gimmicks enough to be using the Terror Bird. Go use the Para you sad, bland, milk-toast ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

If you chose C, I'll admit you have much bigger balls than I do.

You also have a dead bird!

If you chose B, THE AIRHORNS START SOUNDING! JON CENA'S THEME ROARS AS COUNTLESS DEAD MEMES DANCE ACROSS THE SCREEN!

YOU DID IT!

YOU PASSED THE TEST!

Final Words

This guide is probably VERY outdated, so user beware you're in for a scare. I'm only really posting this because I forgot how much effort I put into this.

Remember that the raptor was buffed to have a pounce move to knock people off their mounts because the Terror Bird was just so much better than it.

Tried this on my Extinction playthrough. No freaking way, that torpor drop was insane and the meat requirement was absurd. Just totally unfeasible until I had kibble (unless you put rates high enough to make taming irrelevant obv).
