Thanks! this tutorial was really useful, i had problems with the textures when porting items from skyrim to fallout and this guide works for that purpose, i also leave the link of the tutorial that i used to port from skyrim to fallout, it should work backwards too

You're very welcome. I hope it helped.

Creating a DDS file is as simple as saving whatever you're editing in a DDS format (using my guide to get the right settings).

All you need to do to start creating is click File then New... , and choose your resolution.

You can make it any resolution you want (even different aspect ratios) as the game should just stretch them to fit the object. A common example of a texture that doesn't use a 1:1 ratio is the hands - They are often made to be twice the height, because they are wrapped around the fingers, and need more detail in less space.

The easiest way to make textures for Skyrim is to make a copy of an original texture, and then edit that (resizing it before you start) - using the original image as a guide layer that you can delete later.

Best of luck to you Elizabeth :woodlehappy:

Thank you for this guide. Can you explain how to actually create a dds file? I want to use a picture (saved as jpeg, or png, etc. and convert it to dds to use in skyrim mod.
