About the Guide
This guide is intended to be a general reference for information concerning things such as Drinks, Characters and Shop items.

Concerning Spoilers
This guide will unfortunately contain mild spoilers due to the nature of some information (Example, a character's favourite drink). However I will always do my best to make sure nothing important about the story is given away.
Spoilers will be marked with spoiler tags too.

Usage
Please use the information in this guide at your own discretion, I am not responsible for absolutely anything that may happen as a result.

Gameplay Basics
Time to Mix Drinks and Change Lives
Here's some basic gameplay instructions. Most of these are mentioned in the tutorial but some are not.

Choosing the right drink
Choosing the right drink can be hard at times. Clients will often ask for a specific drink, but sometimes they will ask for something with a description. Go through the recipe list to find something that matches by keywords, and sometimes by the description.
It's also important to remember what each client likes, as sometimes they'll ask you for their 'favourite' drink or similar.
The amount of karmotrine you choose to put in for Optional Karmotrine drinks can also matter.
Important: When the choice of drink is more or less up to you, your decision can affect the story! Choose wisely!

Karmotrine
Karmotrine is the 'alcohol' part of a drink. Drinks without karmotrine, are non-alcoholic. Putting more karmotrine in, makes the drink more alcoholic.
Optional karmotrine means you can put in ANY amount of karmotrine you desire provided there is space to do so. This means you can leave it out for a non-alcoholic drink or fill it to the brim to get client's drunk easily.

Blending
To blend, simply let the drink mix for a longer period of time. You can tell when it's ready when the mixing becomes visibly faster.

On The Rocks
This just means to serve the drink with ice. When a client asks for a cold drink, they also mean this.

Big Drinks
A big drink is anything that uses over 10 units total in ingredients regardless of what they are. For many drinks, just double the amount it tells you to put in. You can also make a drink big by filling it with optional karmotrine if the recipe allows.

Remember, the amount it asks for is a ratio, or parts. A Fring Weaver is: 1 Adelhyde and 9 Karmotrine, which means a ratio of 1:9. 1 part Adelhyde and 9 Karmotrine. So you can easily double it, for a big drink. 2 Adelhyde and 18 Karmotrine.

Serving two drinks at once
After making the first drink, just click next and make the second one. After, click serve. You can switch between the drinks by clicking Slot 1 or Slot 2.
Make sure to remember the details for the individual drinks as one of the client's may want a big drink while the other wants their's small. Try to serve them in the correct order too.

Dialogue History
You can use the scroll wheel on your mouse to see previous dialogue, which may help with understanding the client. Please note you cannot do this while actually serving the drink, so try to listen carefully beforehand.

Failed drinks
It's okay if you mix a drink and the result is an error. You can't actually serve these and you are not penalized for making them.
However, you ARE penalized for serving a drink the client does not want at all. If a client asks for a Zen Star without any ambiguity (This means they didn't mention any others and Jill doesn't mention any other possibilities), not serving them a Zen Star results in deductions at the end of the day.
Getting no mistakes means more money!
Characters
I'll have the Usual
Most of the clients you will meet, will also be regulars. Whether you like them or not, it is good to remember what they like, dislike and have general feelings about. A client might like a particular drink when they are in a certain mood, or want a particular drink for a certain occassion.

Drinks (Recipes and Bottled Drinks)
Calicomp: List of drink recipes
You really don't need this, all the drinks are listed in game really, there aren't any secret drinks (That I know of) apart from bottled drinks.

I'll list them all here eventually though.

Bottled Drinks
Bottled drinks are drinks that are already pre-made, and you serve them by dragging them into the shaker from the menu.
Bottled Drinks are NOT used up. You don't serve them the entire bottle, obviously.

Absinthe
Puke Green Fairy. Strong.
You unlock this via the story.

Fedora
A plum served in a hat full of perfume. Yes, really.
Pretentious.
Unlocked from the start of the game.

Mulan Tea
Tea mixed with liquor.
Unlocked by purchasing it from JC Dentons. (Shop)

Rum
???
Unlocked via story. Serve Stella perfectly until bank incident (Possibly serve Sei perfectly too, needs confirmation)
Expenses (Purchasable items and Bills)
Bills
Each chapter, you must pay a bill of some kind. You will be given a date it needs to be paid by.
If you fail to pay a bill, then it will result in Jill being distracted. (For the rest of the chapter?)

Shining Fingered - $800
Chapter 1
Jill will need to pay off $800 for a subscription to an entertainment service. This is not that difficult to do, so don't worry too much about it, but that also doesn't mean spend all your money at the shop. You'll need that money later.

Electricity Bill - $8,000
Chapter 2
Jill will need to pay her electricity usage. This may be a little more difficult than the first chapter so consider watching your spendings carefully beyond this point.

Rent - $10,000
Chapter 3. (4 Days Notice to pay)
Jill needs to pay Rent for her apartment. Failing to pay this will not result in losing the game.

JC Dentons
Every morning Jill can visit a local shop. There are many things available for purchase, and some of them have practical uses while others merely decorate her apartment.
Keep in mind, purchasing things costs money, which you may need to pay bills, or satisfy Jill's occasional fancy.

Distractions
Occasionally, she will want to buy things for whatever reason, and NOT doing so will cause her to get distracted at work.
What this means is, when you open up Calicomp to serve drinks, Jill will forget what she was meant to serve and will not offer tips to alternative drinks.
This simply means you need to pay closer attention, and is really not that big of a deal. So if you need to save money, that's fine.

List of Purchasable shop items
List of items you can buy at the shop and the effect. Most are purely cosmetic. (Note: I have not purchased all of them, so the one's without descriptions I'm unsure about.)

  • Cute Clay Houses - $500
  • Maneki Neko - $550
  • *Kira* Miki Poster - $300
Displays a poster in Jill's apartment.

  • Megachristmas Tree - $1,350
  • Replica Toy Turing - $2,350
Displays a toy robot in Jill's apartment.

Unlocks a song for the jukebox and music app. "Your Love is a Drug"
  • Beer on Discount - $1,000
Displays crates of beer in Jill's apartment. Does NOT affect bottled drinks available at the bar.
  • Meet the Staff - $300
Unlocks a song for the jukebox and Music App. "Meet the Staff"
  • *Kira* Miki Banner - $900
  • Shoulder Massager - $600
Click on Jill when in her apartment, for a very minor suggestive effect.
  • Mulan Tea - $900
Unlocks a new bottled drink at the bar. (Recommnded you buy this early on IF you can afford it)
Phone Apps
Hold to Unlock
Every morning you have access to Jill's phone. As the story progresses, more apps will be added.
Most of these simply have information concerning the world and story, but some are functional.
Most importantly is the save function.
A yellow mark with an exclamation point means there is new content for that App. Usually new posts.

Apps list

Life Backup
It's the save function.
You click save to save your game... and load to load a saved file. You should know this.

Music Player
Allows you to listen to unlocked music tracks. Annoyingly, if you return to the home menu of the phone it stops playing the music you selected.
Mostly good for previewing music better than the bar jukebox can as the jukebox has a loading time.
You can unlock more music by purchasing tracks from JC Dentons.

Danger/u/
A message board app. Updates semi-frequently
Contains forum discussions concerning events or commercial products, usually.
Only girls use it as everyone knows there are no guys on the internet.

Augmented Eye
A news app. Updates frequently.
Contains news articles concerning recent events, but is also often just full of trash.

Kira Miki Blog
A blog for a certain Lillim idol. Updates rarely.
Contains posts about events or just personal live blogging.
Unlocked via story events. When Kira Miki comes to visit the bar

Nanocamo App
An application that allows you to change how Jill's apartment looks. You can change the walls and the kotatsu. (The japanese blanket table)
Designs to choose from cost money.
Unlocked via story events. Mega Christmas Present

Misc Lore
Glitch City
That's where Jill lives and works!

BTC
British Trademark Council.
Owns all the bars in Glitch City.
A conglomerate built on trademarks and patents.

White Knights
Super police of Glitch City. Most of them are incredibly corrupt.

Lillim
Robot people!

Cat Boomers
Cat people!
Cat boomers have 'cat ears' due to a treatment performed during the fetal period, which is used to treat nanomachine rejection. The resulting cat ears are just a mutation and not actually functional as ears.

Realty Nua
Real estate company that monopolizes Glitch City's real estate.

Nanomachine Expunge
A process in which nanomachines are forcefully removed from the body. It is highly painful. Not very commonly done, and usually only for those with nanomachine rejection.
Endings and HEART data (New Game+)
When you finish the game, you can begin a new game while keeping all of your money and purchases. This will allow you to play the game again more easily as it's easier to prevent Jill getting distracted and get the endings you want.

Ending hints
If you start a New Game+ then you are given some hints on how to get certain endings. There are six different endings.
Below are the hints.
  • An ending is effected by whether Jill gets evicted or not.
  • Two Endings effected by how well you serve Sei and Stella
    - One of these endings effected by your patience for Virgilio

  • An endingis effected by how well you serve *Kira* Miki
  • An ending is effected by how well you serve Alma
  • Becky's ending is effected by serving her well

are the slots based on position (1 is the one on the left whole 2 is the one on the right)?

I thought Anna can drink? :misterghost: If I'm not wrong there is a route/gameplay (near The Prologue on the main menu) where Jill met and served drink for Anna.

Gravelore, what are you talking about? There's no age increments, nothing is killing the game.
3 seconds and 5 seconds don't really matter, just look at the speed the shaker is shaking.
Mix: Slower shake
Blend: Keep shaking and the shaker will shake faster, then serve.
I hope you didn't refund the game.

John Titor: What? There's no age increments. Either a drink is aged or it's not, and it's either mixed or blended, and blending is pretty obvious because the shaker suddenly starts shaking a whole lot faster. That's it. How long a drink is blended for doesn't matter, and how long a drink is mixed only matters if you let it go on long enough to blend.

Trying to distinguish if you aged a drink long enough/mix long enough really needs to be addressed. I dont fucking know the age increments for a brandtini beforehand and only luck out making the drink after the 30th attempt. shit like this kills the game for me sadly and I would love to know the age increments aside from mixing being cryptic and allowing almost instantaneous mix and 3 sec mix then 5+ blend. This shit is practically the core of being able to move forward.

Dana likes flaming moai, as hinted in Read Only Memories, a game set in the same universe as valhalla.
Rice Trispy Jan 18, 2017 @ 6:07pm
Mega Christmas' origins about Turbo Male and his sidekick Buster Master is a direct reference to "Jingle All The Way" where Turbo Man toys are sold out but his sidekick, Buster, is everywhere.

There's a hidden drink used for a few achievements. Ingredients are measured in the fibonacci sequence.
