Deposit Creator

Description
This mod is a simple tool I made that will allow you to add an orbital deposit of your choosing to a selected planet, star, or any celestial body. I'll use planet for convenience from now on, but it will work on any celestial body e.g. asteroids and stars. You can choose from four different size deposits of all the basic resources (minerals, energy, research), and strategic and terraforming resources.

To use this mod: select the planet to which you want to add the orbital deposit, open your console, type <event deposits.1> (without the brackets), and choose from your options!

See changelog for latest updates.

I use the handle Cheikar on the PDX forums so feel free to contact me there or on here.

Note: This mod will clear the orbital deposit currently assigned to the planet when you first trigger the event. This is necessary to keep the game from getting confused when you try to add a deposit to something that previously had the null deposit.

Compatibility Note: this mod really shouldn't conflict with any other mod. It alters no base files and only adds new events and localisation for those events. If it does seem like it is conflicting with something else, please bring it to my attention.

Future Plans/To-Do: Add combination deposits e.g. both energy and mineral deposits

Please let me know if you have any comments or suggestions! Creating this mod was primarily a way for me to educate myself about Stellaris modding. As such, feel free to examine the code and see how I did what I did. If you want to use or incorporate this mod in your own mod, please just give me credit and ask me first. I will almost certainly say yes. Otherwise, feel free to poke around to your heart's content. Enjoy! :)

Thanks to asnys on the PDX forums for the idea about setting a planet flag to get around the scope problem.

People!
I think I found out how to add resources to uninhabited planets!
Here is the exapmle of the code: effect orbital_deposit_tile={clear_deposits=yes add_deposit=d_rich_energy_deposit} /it added to the selected planet 2 energy resources
Instead of d_rich_energy_deposit you can use other names of resources which you can find in Stellaris/common/deposit/00_deposit.txt

any chance you can expand this mod to include setting up tiles on planets?

@Taurus84 that only happens when you're in observer mode; if you're playing as an empire, it works fine.

An update would nonetheless be appreciated, considering the addition of Yurantic crystals.

Could you please update for version 1.6? This mod does not work for me anymore... when I have a planet activated and run the command from the console it adds random resources as deposit or it adds none at all... there is no pop up menu anymore.

Please update this mod dude, it's as easy as copying the code over, no changes required, it all still works perfectly fine, just for the sake of not getting that stupid "are you sure.." prompt. Not everyone has the ability to pull your mod apart and use the code like I did just to stop that really annoying box comming up. Seriously man it'll take like 10 minutes...

This mod still worked fine in 1.4, and I imagine it'll work in 1.5 as well. At least with common resource types. I mean, at some point in 1.2 or 1.3 or 1.4, Alien Pets were changed from a Celestial Body resource to a Planet Tile resource. So I imagine if the mod isn't updated for this, then you can't use it unless you know what not to do.
