How to make a LAN server (Unturned).

Many people love Unturned. They want to build bases and fight zombies, but wouldn't that be so much better with friends. Today I will show you how to make an Unturned LAN server.

Finding Your Files

How to find the Unturned files:

1. Open the your library of games in Steam.

2. Right-click Unturned and click "properties"

3. Go to the "Local Files" tab and click "browse local files"

Making a Server

This is for after you find the file location:

1. Right click the Unturned.exe that is in the folder

2. Make a shortcut of it

3. Right-click the short cut and go to properties

4. Delete the "target" and put: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Unturned\Unturned.exe" nographics batchmode +secureserver/Server

5. Open the server

6. after it says "loading level: 100%" close it

Server Setup

After following the past steps you should get a new folder called "Servers" :

1. open it

2. open the folder inside that has the name of your server

3. open the "sever" folder

4. open "Comands.dat" with notepad

5. type the following (select one of the items in parenthesis and brackets are for extra information ) :

map (PEI , Washington , Yukon)

name (name the server here)

pvp (if not leave blank)

mode (Easy, Normal, Hard) {This will not work if you have logged onto your sever already.}

port 27015

cheats (enabled or leave blank for no cheats)

6. save and exit this file

7. go back to the shortcut

8 (optional). move the shortcut to the desktop

9. open the shortcut (which is now the server) and let it load

10. Have fun on your sever

Notes (Read before commenting a problem):
*WILL NOT WORK UNLESS YOU ARE BOTH ON THE SAME WIFI
*If you only see a black screen wait for the words to start popping up if they don't you have done something wrong.
*When changing difficulty it will not work if anyone has ever logged into your server.
*Good internet is suggested for logging on.

@retas80 Yeah you are absolutely right, but I suppose a router is a less technical/sketchy solution :)

@qndijoamigos for a lan part / lan game you don't even need a router. A simple lan cable between the computers and a few changes inside windows is enough to do it

@Dr. Nomz LAN doesn't mean you have to be connected to internet, it means you must be part of the same "local network", so you only need a cheap router and connect both PCs to it through the LAN ports or via Wi-Fi. I hope it works :)

@Dr. Nomz LAN (Local Area Network) is a connection formed through internet so no, you can't connect with another player while offline unfortunately

Man can you play Unturned in LAN OFFLINE???? I tried doing that, had both PCs set up, but the fucking Steam CMD thing wouldn't function without internet. WHY? Internet is FUCKING expensive when you're in the middle of nowhere, so it's not like when can just run our mobile hotspot 24/7 just to play a fucking game. If we could do that, we wouldn't bother with this shit, we'd just hit the "connect" button. I really need to point these things out because I saw some idiots on reddit who didn't seem to consider that possibility.

if you need unturned.exe then I'm screwed because I don't have that file and it wasn't downloaded when I got unturned

@Bear_With_Me_ : lan doesnt work anymore. do you get this error? Hosting dedicated servers using client files has been deprecated since June 2019.
Please use the standalone dedicated server app ID 1110390 available through SteamCMD instead.

what is this and how do i fix?
