@cheerwine no, they stated in a dev digest that you knock it out with trains to the head, aka a catapult or cannon. Only reason alpha tribes will tame it is because they have kibble for it. I will imagine this takes longer than a bronto with berries.

The only way to tame it is by beating it into submission. That is why they say only the most elite tribes can tame one. These things are strong enough to kill gigas.

I'm preaty sure it has to do something with the head, I know that any thing else with the head wont knock it out
