Descripción
The most complete L4D2 vocalizer with nearly 800 vocalization lines. The real deal.


FEATURES

  • 13 radial menus with shared voice lines
  • 9 radial menus with character-specific voice lines (for each character)
  • Radial menu for character selection/switching and going idle
  • Setting up keys for the radial menus is easy through game's options
  • Works online on official, dedicated and local servers, and in single player

Extra features available when installed on hosting server:
  • Rare and unused voice lines for all characters (limited use)
  • All of Ellis and Keith stories (limited use)
  • Coughing, breathing, singing and various screams (limited use)
  • Non-Playable Characters vocalizations (limited use)
  • Vocalizations when playing as Special Infected (limited use)
  • Some of default shared voice lines have additional responses (limited use)
  • All voice lines can be used immediately in safe rooms (limited use)
  • Infected callouts are available even after rescue vehicle has arrived (limited use)

INSTALLATION

  1. Subscribe, start Left 4 Dead 2 and wait for add-ons to load.

  2. Go to Add-ons menu and disable any conflicting add-ons.
    (e.g. other vocalizer or add-ons with radial menus)

  3. Go to Options menu and bind the radial menus to the keys you want.
    Options → Keyboard/Mouse → Edit Keys/Buttons → Vocalizer Radial Menus

HOW TO USE

  • Character-specific menus
    Press and hold the key for Character selection menu and choose your current character. After that, you'll be able to use its character-specific menus.

  • Voice lines
    Press and hold key for a desired menu, then choose a voice line. All other players will hear what your character is saying.

  • Going idle
    Press and hold the key for Character selection menu and choose IDLE.

  • Character switching
    First go idle. Then using Character selection menu choose another available character.



IMPORTANT TO KNOW

What is "limited use"
These voice lines will work only on local servers and dedicated servers where this add-on is installed, and in single player. They CANNOT WORK on official Valve servers!

Miscellaneous menus
Some voice lines in these menus work only for L4D1 and some only for L4D2 characters.

Some voice lines can't always work
For some lines to work, certain conditions have to be met (for example, you must not be in fight). Also, many voice lines are not available in Scavenge and Survival.

When can't go idle
You can't go idle if you are the only player, or if all other players are already idle.

Note on switching characters
After switching characters, you will need to select your new character again to properly mount all of its character-specific menus.

Vocalizer in Versus and Scavenge on official servers
All add-ons are disabled when playing competitive modes on official Valve servers. However, you can follow my guide to make the vocalizer work there.



DEDICATED SERVER INSTALLATION
(for server admins only)

Install the add-on on your server, so players can use all radial menus and all responses:
  1. Download my vocalizer from GameMaps[www.gamemaps.com]
  2. Put the VPK file in \left4dead2\addons
  3. Restart your server

NOTICE FOR MODDERS

You can use my vocalizer (in whole or part of it) as a foundation for your own mod. But if you release that mod anywhere, you're required to give me proper credit — write in your mod's description that it's based on ion's Vocalizer (with link to this page).

is there a way to remove being able to say voicelines instantly in the saferooms? its annoying when character convos can be interrupted by someone spotting a medkit or something

Out of all of the vocalizer mods I've tried over the years, this has got to be the best one still. No weird layouts, no lame lines (for the most part) and a good variety. My life would be complete once Valve allows all of the lines to work regardless of dedicated/listen server status.

@you stink: Idle talks like intro you mentioned cannot be vocalized. It could be only added as custom-made vocalizer line.

@The Guide From Terraria: I've tested again all lines you mentioned (some of them are not even from The Passing) both on my local server and official Valve server and they all work, as expected. What these lines have in common is the restriction that they can't work in Scavenge and Survival modes. Furthermore, some of them can't be used while you're in combat, so you'll have to wait until it's quiet first.
That is how things are defined in official talker. If you still can't use the lines, maybe you have some modified talker installed which changed talker rules for these lines.

also facing the same problem as @BIg-Heavy-Mann regarding the whole missing The Passing lines, for the specific lines something like "Shithole, Hey, Feelings, Nice Ellis, Better chance, etc." honestly i think all of the passing lines just doesn't seem to work or play

@Aniki Anime: Ah yes, Improved Bots (Advanced) is offering setting its keybindings through Options, so it WILL conflict. All you had to do is to temporarily disable that add-on if you wanted to set up vocalizer keys.

All of this started happening when I set advanced bots to full power through !botsmenu and selected different modes for the bots where I selected through numbers of what mode they're on. Saying for other people.
