General information
There are 50 achievements to earn in this game and over half of them are story related and can't be missed. Unfortunately some achievements are mutually exclusive, so at least two playthroughs are required in order to get to 100% . Luckily the game stores multiple saved games so instead of starting again from the beginning it's possible to simply copy over an earlier save.

Location of saved games:
Windows:
C:\Users\<user>\AppData\LocalLow\Microids\The ABC Murders\Profils\<profile number>\
Linux (thank you Barbabranca)
~/.config/unity3d/Microids/The ABC Murders/Profils
The game automatically creates backup copies so it's easy to go back to an earlier state if required. Simply open one of many numbered subfolders and copy the files to a parent folder overwriting all files.

  • Purring tomcat
Sit in the armchair in Poirot's apartment after coming back from Andover.

  • Dali moustache
    Make Mary Drower cry.

When interrogating Mary Drower choose these dialogue options:
    - "Demand that she stops crying"
    - "Deduce that the inheritance is for her"
    - "Accuse her of lying"

This will also unlock "Small donkey" and count towards "Medium donkey" and "Large donkey" achievements.

  • Four-leaf clover
    Tidy up once.

On three occasions Poirot will comment on things being out of order and actioning upon one of them will grant this achievement. The earliest it can be unlocked is in Betty Barnard's room in Bexhill while inspecting a clock. Move both clock hands to 12 (might take a few tries to register, wait for Poirot to comment) to get it.
This achievement is required for "Snowflake" and "Cesium-133 crystal".

  • Snowflake
    Tidy up twice.

On three occasions Poirot will comment on things being out of order and actioning upon two of them will grant this achievement. The earliest it can be unlocked (assuming "Four-leaf Clover" has been earned) is in Whitehaven while packing suitcases before leaving to Churston. Talk to Hastings and select "Point out that order is essential". This will enable an observation which you must complete to get the achievement.
This achievement is required for "Cesium-133 crystal".

  • Cesium-133 crystal
    Tidy up thrice.

On three occasions Poirot will comment on things being out of order and actioning upon all three of them will grant this achievement. Assuming "Four-Leaf Clover" and "Snowflake" have been earned, this can be unlocked during the second visit in Churston. While investigating outside of the manor you'll come accross a misaligned planter. Simply push it back into the right place to get this achievement.

  • Stone
Read a newspaper that criticises you.

In Whitehaven, after coming back from the second visit to Churston, before talking to Donald Fraser, read a newspaper on a round table next to the sofa.
This achievement is required to unlock "Incense burner".

  • Incense burner
    Read the last newspaper.

In Whitehaven, after talking to A.B. Cust and on your way to pick up a revolver, read a newspaper on a table next to the sofa.
In order to get this achievement you need to have "Stone" already unlocked.

  • Red cross
Help Lady Clarke and A.B. Cust.

Help Lady Clarke by giving her an injection and help A.B. Cust by giving him a correct medicine (cough medicine or sedative).

Helping Lady Clarke is story related and can't be missed.
During interrogation of A. B. Cust he might start to cough an be unable to speak. Give him a cough medicine. If he mentions a headache and starts to shake, give him a sedative.

An example dialogue choices which will allow you to give a sedative to A. B. Cust:
    - "Present yourself"
    - "Talk about the letters"
    - "Acknowledge his innocence"
    - "Admit that you do not believe he is a murderer"
    - "Get him to talk about the army"
    - "Get him to believe he is innocent"
    - "Ask him if he acknowledges going to the three towns"
    - "It proves that you wrote them"

  • Secret Heart
    Have discovered Thora Grey's intentions

In Churston, while talking to Thora Grey for the first time, choose:
    - "Ask if he (Sir Carmichael) gave her gifts"
    - "Mention the brooch"
    - "Ask if the gift annoyed Lady Clarke"
    - "Indicate that the dragon is frightening to Lady Clarke" (this will allow to unlock "Dragon's smoke" later)
    - "Ask her for her version of the facts"
    - "Ask the reasons for her aversion to Franklin" (this might unlock "Medium donkey")

  • Gandhi moustache
Choose blank bullets for your revolver.

When picking up the revolver choose blank bullets (green box).
Missable achievements
  • Small Donkey
    Make one mistake.

There are eight big mistakes Poirot can make which count towards this achievement, making one will grant this achievement. They're all listed in the description of "Large donkey" achievement. The first opportunity to unlock it is during the interrogation of Mary Drower.
This achievement is required for "Medium donkey" and "Large Donkey".

  • Medium donkey
    Make four mistakes.

There are eight big mistakes Poirot can make which count towards this achievement, making four will grant this achievement. They're all listed in the description of "Large donkey" achievement. Making four mistakes will unlock this achievement.

  • Large donkey
    Make eight mistakes.

There are eight big mistakes Poirot can make which count towards this achievement, they're listed below. Seven of them require selecting specific dialog options and the last one picking right item.

    - "Say that the curse of the dragon is on her"

  • Black dragon
Find all black dragons in Churston

You need to find all black dragons at Combeside. I'm not sure if all items listed below are required, but all except for one are story related and can't be missed anyway.
During the first visit to Churston make sure to inspect the cupboard in the left corner as last as it will make Thora come back and will prevent you from further inspection of the room.
    • Sir Carmichael's watch on a blanket next to his body

    • Thora Grey’s brooch (during second visit to Churston, on the table)

  • Sheriff moustache
    Save Donbar's life.

In Whitehaven, while talking to ♥♥♥♥ Donbar over the phone, choose:
    - "Ask to speak to Donbar"
    - "Ask if he has heard about the investigation"
    - "Put the danger into perspective. Cust is only a suspect"
    - "Ask him to keep an eye on him"

  • Black swan
    Cause Donbar's heart attack.

    - "Ask to speak to Donbar"
    - "Say that he’s a killer"
    - "Warn him that Cust is dangerous" (this counts towards "Large Donkey")

  • Cleaning tomcat
    Take care of your mustache.

Interact with all mirrors in the game. There are eleven of them:
    1. In the bedroom at the back of the tobacco shop in Andover.
    2. In Poirot's apartment after returning from Andover (next to the door).
    3. In Ginger Cat in Bexhill (on the wall).
    4. In Betty Barnard’s house in Bexhill (above the fireplace).
    5. In Betty Barnard’s house in Bexhill (in the bedroom).
    6. In Poirot's apartment after returning from Bexhill (next to the door).
    7. In the hall of the Combside manor, during the second visit in Churston.
    8. In Poirot's apartment after returning from Churston, before talking to Donald.
    9. In Poirot's apartment after talking to Thora Grey, before picking up mail.
    10. In A.B. Cust's room at the Marbury Guest House.
    11. In Poirot's apartment on your way to pick up the revolver.

  • Eagle's Eye
    Finish all the observations.

This is the most difficult achievement to unlock in my opinion. It requires you to complete all the observations in the game, including people, items and scenery. There's no progress track and it's really easy to miss some observations. The only help is achievement "Falcon's Eye", unlocked for completing half of the observation. It should unlock during the second observation of Megan Bernard in Bexhill, after coming back downstairs from Betty's room. If it doesn't unlock then, you've missed an observation and "Eagle's Eye" won't unlock.
Listing all the observations would mean providing a full walkthrough and would take a lot of space.
Achievement guide
Below is a guide showing the order in which achievments unlock including a short description. You can follow it while playing to make sure you haven't missed any achievement.

"Sheriff moustache - Call Donbar yourself and save his life. This locks ... and "Incense burner" achievements."

Thanks for the guide. For some reason, I have "incense burner" but not "stone", so apparently the latter isn't a requirement for the former.

Thank you for wonderful guide. It will help me a lot to collect all the achievements.

I missed 'Telescope' after my first playthrough so I don't think it is 'unmissable'. Maybe it was a bug, though.

Amazing guide. Thank you for it. It was super helpful. 😊👏🏻

Good guide, but I think that on Large donkey on the 6 scene you also need to "Ask Megan why Betty didn't say anithing" after you "Agree the subject creates a feeling of discomfort".
