Introduction to this guide
Hello everyone! In this guide I'm going to show you how to convert your FFX or FFX-2 Playstation 2 game saves into a HD remaster PC game save... but first things first, i recommend you to switch off Steam Cloud Service, because if something bad happens the game will crash, and your corrupted data will be uploaded and may cause your game to crash every time when you try to load your saves.

If you have a raw savefile directly from your PS2 Memory Card, skip to Step 3.

Download this {LENKE FJERNET} to have the neccessary programs you're going to need. These are: mymmc, MemorySumChecker & PS2_Save_Builder.
Final Fantasy X
Step 1: Export your save file from your Virtual Memory Card image using mymmc: browse and open your VMC image used by PCSX2 and select your save then click on Export, and save your file where you can find it.

Step 2: Extract your raw save file from your .psu file you exported in Step 1 using PS2_Save_Builder: click on Open and browse to your .psu file you saved in Step 1. Right click in the list on the file shows your game's ID and select Extract. Save your raw file where you can find it as well.

Step 3: Fix your checksums using MemorySumChecker: Press Ctrl + O and open your raw file you saved in Step 2, Select "FFX" in the dropdown menu on the left and press the blue "Play" button above.

Step 4: Rename (eg ffx_005) and copy your raw save file into your HD remaster saves directory, can be found in:
C:\Users\<username>\Documents\SQUARE ENIX\FINAL FANTASY X&X-2 HD Remaster\FINAL FANTASY X\

NOTE: You must remove all Dresspheres from all Garment Grids, and put a "Gunner" Dressphere into "First Steps" grid's upper slot. This worked for me, after the convertion, you can edit them in FFX-2 HD on PC. (This needs to be done only for the non-International versions.)

UPDATE:
I've gathered all my programing knoledge to compile a program that patch your savegame to match in size with the PC release save. Although there are 2 issues, that i know you will have: your active party members' "Size" will be named incorrectly as "Size", eg Yuna is an "S" Size character, but it will be shown as a "Size" Size character. The other issue is: You will not have the "Festivalist" Dressphere. Also there is a high chance to have other issues, so please let me know if you've encountered one. And also this is still under development. xD
You can download this patcher here:

(Source code also included.)
You can check it's VirusTotal scan results here:

Step 1: Export your save file from your Virtual Memory Card image using mymmc: browse and open your VMC image used by PCSX2 and select your save then click on Export, and save your file where you can find it.

Step 2: Extract your raw save file from your .psu file you exported in Step 1 using PS2_Save_Builder: click on Open and browse to your .psu file you saved in Step 1. Right click in the list on the file shows your game's ID and select Extract. Save your raw file where you can find it as well.

Step 2.5: Use FFX-2 Patcher v0.1 now if you have US version save: Browse your save file, give a new save file location, hit "Patch" button, and continue to Step 3.

Step 3: Fix your checksums using MemorySumChecker: Press Ctrl + O and open your raw file you saved in Step 2 or patched in Step 2.5. Select "FFX-2" in the dropdown menu on the left and press the blue "Play" button above.

Step 4: Rename (eg ffx2_005) and copy your raw save file into your HD remaster saves directory, can be found in:
C:\Users\<username>\Documents\SQUARE ENIX\FINAL FANTASY X&X-2 HD Remaster\FINAL FANTASY X-2\

Summary
If you did everything right, a window will pop-up and tell you upon loading your save, that the character names will be changed back to its defaults, and will load. If not, the game will crash upon accessing your saves in the Load menu (or your Garment Grids ingame in FFX-2)
Also there is a chance of having some more conditons that may cause the games to crash. Please let me know if you have found one and i'll update the guide.

Enjoy!

Can anyone post a working link to the patcher?

Tried googling for it but I mostly just find language patches.

You are going to need a softmodded/hardmodded PS2 to run ulaunch.elf to copy your saves a flash drive or an adapter (PS2 memcard to usb) to get your PS2 save on your PC

I have the ps2 and the ps4 and a computer that can do most things. I just don't have the devise that you use to convert ps2 saves from the ps2 cards to any other format, like usb or whatever to load them onto my computer and convert. Oh well, I'll just play the 2 games different on both consoles when I feel in the mood.

I think it might be done with BruteforceSaveData. convert from PS2 -> PS3 and then you might be able to simply transfer the file with the PS3's built-in save transfer, but i cannot test it out, because i don't have any of these consoles.

I think there is no way to move a save file from a ps2 to a ps4 platform is there? All I see here are ps2 converts to PC versions. No way to port it to a computer and then to a ps4 game huh? Pretty sure its a NO.
