How to play Multiplayer/Coop with friends online

This guide is for learning how to connect to your friends for playing multiplayer/coop games

Joining a Game online

If you want to join a game then first you will have to select "Multiplayer" from the main menu. If you are joining a game over the internet then make sure you click on the internet tab near the top of the screen as seen here:

Then you should type in the IP Address of the host you are trying to connect to into the IP box as seen here:

After that click the "Add" button to the right of the IP box and then click "Join Game" in the bottom right corner of the screen.

Hosting a game online

If you want to be able to host a game online then you will have to do some port forwarding on your router. Every router is different so you are going to have to figure out for yourself how that works, you can try checking any manuals that came with your router or checking some guides on the internet such as this one[portforward.com] (which interestingly enough has specific guides for which ports to open for Ghost Recon).

Once you have figured out how to forward ports on your router you will then have to forward the ports 2346 to 2348 on both UDP and TCP for the local IP that your computer is using.

Once you have done all that boot up Ghost Recon, go to the Multiplayer menu and click the "Create Game" up at the top left corner of the screen. There, you have now created a joinable lobby. To get other people to join you have to give them your public IP. You may notice Ghost Recon displaying a message that says "You IP Address is: (some numbers)", that is the wrong IP address so don't give people that one. A very easy way to find out your public IP is to just simply google search "my ip"[www.google.com]. Take that number and give that to anyone who wants to join your game.

Local Area Network

This section is for people who are playing on a Local Area Network, this is if you are physically located in the same room as who you are trying to play with or if you and your friends have some kind of VPN program like Hamachi or Tunngle connecting you together.

Joining a game is as simple as getting into the multiplayer menu, making sure you are on the LAN tab as seen in the following picture:
Then you just click on the server name and then click join game in the bottom right corner of the screen.

Hosting on LAN is even more simple, click "Create Game" in the top left corner of the screen. That's it.

The way my friends and I were able to get it working was by using Radmin https://www.radmin-vpn.com then hosting a game, having them copy my IP displayed on there and entering it into the Internet section on the multiplayer menu. Worked pretty flawlessly, just make sure not to accidentally ban your friend as a joke, you cannot reverse or undo it. Learned from experience.

My friends both play on steam and connect through hamachi. If i buy the game on ubisoft (where it currently is on sale) would that stop me from playing with them? ( I know it kinda is a stupid quiestion but I just want to be sure)

i need help getting online with a very few people 2 at max online i cant play with them because i dont have the mods i think please help

easier solution is to use https://www.noip.com/ create a no-ip account and run this while you run the game, within the IP box insert your chosen
no-ip name for example

host the game while running and have your friends or whoever you want to join use the below as the IP

sample.zapto.org (address being for example purposes only)

then why didnt you say it was a discord link? Since you typed it in game, i thought it was a server, that all i want, a server ip, i dont have discord
