Warriors of Sunlight

"An ancient talisman depicting a holy symbol bestowed upon the Warriors of Sunlight. Equip to pledge oneself to the Warrior of Sunlight covenant.

Warriors of Sunlight are brilliantly beaming co-operators who place their golden signatures to help those in need, for it is their duty to deliver a great conquest to their summoner"

Joining the warrior of Sunlight covenant

  • You must obtain the item: Warrior of Sunlight and equip it.
  • The talisman needed to join the covenant can be found in the Undead Settlement
  • To Find the Talisman to Join: From the Undead Settlement Bonfire, head left, through the corpse-house towards the burning tree with undead worshipping around it. From here, head straight ahead until you reach another bunch of houses, at the end of the stairs going down. Keep going straight through the stone archway, and into the door of the first house ahead. The room has many hanging corpses. The talisman can be found by falling through the gap in the floor.

Rank Requirements

Bestowing Sunlight Medals to the sunlight altar, located in Lothric Castle until the next rank is achieved. You can achieve these by helping another player successfully co-op a boss, with a successful invasion as a Sunlight Warrior or as a possible drop from Lothric Knights in Lothric Castle.

How to rank up

To rank up the player must turn in the Medals at the the Sunlight Altar, which can be found right before the Dragonslayer Armour boss fight in Lothric Castle. Facing the fog gate of Dragonslayer Armour turn left. At the end of the walkway turn left again. There will be a ladder, climb it, cross over the rooftop and descend into the building. The altar will be right before the door that leads outside.

Rewards

  • 10 Sunlight Medals - Sacred Oath
  • 30 Sunlight Medals - Great Lightning Spear

Effects of Covenant

  • The player's white summon signature will now be golden.
  • The player will shine with gross incandescence whilst summoned into another player's world.
  • Upon achieving one's purpose when summoned, (defeating a boss, or completeing an area) the player (as well as the host) will recieve (in addition to default gifts) a Sunlight Medal, which can be bestowed to the covenant altar to achieve higher ranking in the Warriors of Sunlight covenant.
  • Upon reaching a higher ranking, the player will receive a set gift (see Rank Requirements).
  • If invading with the Red Sign Soap Stone or the Red eye orb your color will be orange.
  • Members of this covenant that invade have prioritisation for hosts that already have an invader present, for some jolly coop-invasions.
Way of Blue

"Pale blue sheepskin parchment detailing the moon of an ancient accord. Equip to pledge oneself to the Way of Blue. Members of the Way of Blue are the beneficiaries of an ancient accord. When a dark spirit threatens them, a blue spirit will grant them assistance, and help root out the invader. Summoning takes place automatically while this is equipped."

Joining

  • Obtain the item: Way of Blue and equip it.
  • It is located across from Vordt of the Boreal Valley boss fight in the Cathedral with Emma.

Effects of Cevenant

The Way of the Blue is a co-op covenant that summons Blue Sentinels and Blades of the Darkmoon when you are being invaded, in order to protect you. This covenant is mostly aimed towards players who have trouble beating invaders or just like to have some added security.

Rank Requierments

There are no higher ranks for this covenant.
Blue Sentinels

"Faded sheepskin parchment depicting the Darkmoon and a sword. Equip to pledge oneself to the Blue Sentinels covenant.

When a member of the Way of Blue is threatened by a dark spirit, the Blue Sentinels, in compliance with an ancient accord, assume the form of blue spirits, and help to root out the leader.

Summoning takes place automatically while this is equipped."

Joining

  • You must obtain the item: Blue Sentinels and equip it.
  • It is located in Halfway Fortress bonfire by the Road of Sacrifices. Horace the Hushed will be found in this location.
  • Turn in items in Anor Londo, at Company Captain Yorshka

Effects of Covenant

  • Blue Sentinels will be summoned into the worlds of those in the Way of Blue to defend them from hostile invaders. This behavior is shared with the Blades of the Darkmoon.
  • Blue sentinels phantom color is light blue.
  • If the Host of Embers enters a boss room, the Blue Sentinel will be rewarded with a Proof of a Concord Kept and be returned to their world.
  • If the invader is killed by the spear throwing giant in Irithyll of the Boreal Valley, the Blue Sentinel will NOT be rewarded a Proof of a Concord Kept. However, they will still get the same victory message.

Rank Requirements

This Covenant appears to share its Ranks with the Blades of the Darkmoon. To rank up the player will need Proof of a Concord Kept. To acquire Proof of a Concord Kept a player must be summoned while having their Blue Sentinel badge equipped and successfully defeat an invading phantom. If the player defeats more than one invading phantom while summoned they will acquire more Proof of a Concord Kept. The player is sent home when all invaders are banished. They can also be recieved as a drop from Silver Knight in Anor Londo (Rare).

To rank up the player must turn these in to Company Captain Yorshka in Anor Londo. She is located in a tower across an invisible walkway near the first bonfire there.

Rewards

10 Proof of a Concord Kept - Darkmoon Ring
30 Proof of a Concord Kept - Darkmoon Blade (Miracle)
Blades of The Darkmoon

"A silver pendant depicting the Darkmoon and a sword, the crest of the Darkmoon Knights, the original Blue Sentinels. Equip to pledge oneself to the Blade of the Darkmoon covenant.

When a member of the Way of Blue faces a dark spirit, the Blades of the Darkmoon, by an ancient accord, help to root out the invader. Summoning takes place automatically when equipped."

Joining

  • You must obtain the item: Blades of the Darkmoon and equip it.
  • It is located in Anor Londo, at a tower accessed by walking over an invisible path from the rotating platform. The rotating stairs can be in any position. If it is at the top (allowing access to Anor Londo) go to the bottom of the stairs, and if it's at the bottom go to the top. There's a bonfire on a platform of the tower directly in front of you on the broken path, just walk through the air straight ahead of the platform exit. Do not deviate from the path until you are perpendicular to the bonfire, then go 90° to your right, and you will land safely next to the bonfire. (There are invisible walls around the walkway so you cannot actually fall down at the wrong place.)
  • You must have learned the "Darkmoon Loyalty" Gesture from Sirris of the Sunless Realm.
  • Alternatively Company Captain Yorshka can be killed to retrieve the covenant item required to join. You will not however be able to turn-in covenent items for rewards until the next NG.

Effects of Covenant

  • The covenant is identical in function to the Blue Sentinels, with an additional rivalry with the Aldritch Faithful.
  • Defeating members of the Aldritch Faithful gives a Proof of a Concord Well Kept as an extra reward (no longer seems to be working on PC as of regulation version 1.06.1 - needs confirmation).
  • Dark moon phantom color is dark blue.
  • If the Host of Embers enters a boss room, the Blade of the Darkmoon will be rewarded with a Proof of a Concord Kept and be returned to their world. It seems to not work on optionals or mid-bosses.
  • If the invader returns home, or is killed by the spear throwing giant in Irithyll of Boreal Valley, the Blade of the Darkmoon will NOT be rewarded a Proof of a Concord Kept. However, they will still get the same victory message.
  • It is possible to be summoned to Archdragon Peak if the host is fighting one of the NPC summons of the lizard-men there.
  • If the host summons any reds/purples through the use of red soapstones (instead of white), then the Blades cannot be summoned.
  • Note that summoning will prioritize the area that you are in, but will summon you anywhere after an indeterminate amount of time has passed.

Rank Requirements

Ranks are obtained by offering obtained Proof of a Concord Kept items to Company Captain Yorshka. These can be acquired by being summoned with the Covenant item equipped and defeating players (one given for each invader banished, so to stay in the host's world and farm you may wish to keep one invader alive) OR by defeating Silver Knights, as they have a small chance to drop them (approx 1 in 30).

Rewards

  • 10 Darkmoon Ring (Grants 2 additional attunement slots.)
  • 30 Darkmoon Blade (Miracle)
Rosaria's Fingers

"Sacred seal of Archdeacon Klimt, who served Rosaria, Mother of Rebirth. Equip to pledge oneself to the Rosaria's Fingers covenant.

Rosaria's Fingers collect tongues in her name. Some do it to be reborn; others do it to help comfort their voiceless goddess."

Joining

  • You must obtain the item: Rosaria's Fingers and equip it.
  • It is located in Cathedral of the Deep.
  • You can turn in items at Rosaria, Mother of Rebirth.

Effects of Covenant

  • Rosaria's Fingers is a covenant that allows you to be "reborn". Rebirth allows you to trade a Pale Tongue to reallocate your stats or change your appearance. You have a maximum of 5 rebirths per NG Cycle
  • SPOILER You can still offer Pale Tongues to Rosaria if she is killed during Leonhard's sidequest and you don't return her soul.
  • Offering a pale tongue will end Sirris' questline. Simply discovering the covenant will not.
  • Rosaria's Fingers phantom color is red.
  • Defeating blue defenders (Blue Sentinels or Blades of the Darkmoon) will earn you an additional Forked Pale Tongue, a double reward item.

Rank Requirements

Ranks are obtained by offering Pale Tongue. Acquire these by invading and successfully defeating a host, while you have the Covenant item equipped OR by killing Darkwraiths in Road of Sacrifices. You turn in these items at Rosaria, Mother of Rebirth in Cathedral of the Deep. You can also acquire Forked Pale Tounges from defeating blue phantoms.

Rewards

  • 10 Pale Tongues offered Obscuring Ring
  • 30 Pale Tongues offered Man-Grub's Staff
Mound-Makers

"A malformed vertebra found by the mad, with a queer symbol on its inside, proof of the shackles of the Gods. Equip to pledge oneself to the Mound-makers covenant.

The mound-makers wish only to add to their mounds, becoming mad spirits whether summoned as co-operators or invaders.

They are blithe to those around them, for in their minds, any kill might lead to another shackle."

Joining

  • you must obtain the item: Mound-Makers and equip it.
  • Before killing the Curse-Rotted Greatwood boss, start at the Undead Settlement bonfire and continue through the house until reaching the camp with an Evangelist near a burning pile (where you find Loretta's Bone), from here take a right and cross the wooden bridge. At the other side of the bridge there's a bunch of crates and barrels, break those and walk behind the stables insted of entering. Behind a small house with a ladder is a cage spider NPC, it will give you a hint that there's something fishy going on with a cage. Climb up the ladder of the small house, then drop off the roof on the right side. You will see a large guy with a cage on his back, approach his cage and use the action button to examine it. A cutscene will appear and you will be teleported to the area where an NPC gives you the covenant. (Does not work with summons or while being invaded).
  • After joining the covenant there is no apparent way to leave the area apart from using a Homeward Bone, but a quit/reload will spawn you back at the settlement where you entered the cage, without reviving everything you had killed up to that point.
  • If you kill the Curse-Rotted Greatwood before acquiring the covenant, go to the entrance of the boss room after having defeated Aldrich. There you can activate the summon sign of Sirris of the Sunless Realms and join in cooperation. If successful, you will acquire the Covenant. You must not have turned Sirris hostile towards you.

Effects of covenant

  • How you enter a host's world dictates how you can interact with the world. You can either be summoned via a White Sign Soapstone or invade using a Red Eye Orb.
  • When using the summon sign you are placed in the friendly phantom slots for the host. You can kill any phantom and the host. You also can attack and kill the enemies in the hosts world. However you cannot enter a boss fog with the host. You will be sent away when the host enters the fog.
  • If you invade as a mad phantom you can only hurt other phantoms and the host. Killing the host will send you home with your reward. Regardless of how you enter the hosts world other mad phantoms can attack and hurt you as well as any phantom or host. The only thing that changes hostility based on how you enter is the pve enemies which are no longer hostile to you when you invade.
  • The white phantom ring does not change your summon sign from purple to white.
  • Whether you use the white soap stone, red soap stone, or the red eye orb a mound maker phantom will always appear as purple as well as the signs you place.
  • Invading as a Mound Maker will prioritize worlds with many players, allowing for maximum chaos. (from officialPrima guide)
  • It is worth noting that, even if you did not obtain the covenant equip item in a playthrough, you may still turn in vertebra shackles obtained through other means for the covenants rank rewards.

Rank Requirments

Players can increase their rank in the covenant by offering acquired Vertebra Shackle Items at the altar in the Pit of Hollows where you face Curse-Rotted Greatwood in the Undead Settlement. Acquire these by defeating the world host; being present for the death of up to 3 phantoms of any type, the exact number of which is determined by the existing number of non-Host players in that world; or defeating any Mound-Maker who invades you. They are also rare drops from large red-eyed skeletons in Catacombs of Carthus. Hosts who defeat a Mound-maker invader will receive a Vertebra Shackle as well, but this does not apply if the Mound Maker invaded by means of Red Sign Soapstone. A cheesey way to farm Vertebra Shackles is to have two Mound Makers summon each other repeatedly and allow the invader to kill the host. (To clarify. You need a total of 30 and not 30 extra after going to rank 1)

Rewards

10 Bloodlust (Katana)
30 Warmth Pyromancy
Watchdogs of Farron

"Ancient medallion depicting the crest of a wolf. Symbolizes the pact with the Old Wolf of Farron. Equip to pledge oneself to the Watchdogs of Farron.

The Watchdogs ensure that the warriors sleep in serenity, by taking the form of loyal spirits and hunting down those who would trespass the woods of Farron.

Summoning takes place automatically while this is equipped."

Joining

  • You must obtain the item: Watchdogs of Farron and equip it.
  • Farron Keep: Pray to the Old Wolf of Farron

Effects of Covenant

  • While the item is equipped, be summoned as a loyal spirit to defeat intruders.
  • Farron phantoms are blue with a red tint.
  • You can be summoned even if you're out of the Farron Territory (as long as the symbol of the covenant is flashing-white you can be summoned).
  • Farron Spirits will invade only hosts that haven't yet defeated the area boss, they don't have to be human though.
  • Warning: There is a bug with the rank rewards. If you turn-in on the same time as being summoned, you might lose the reward (you can get it on the next level)

Rank Requirements

Ranks are obtained by giving the Old Wolf obtained Wolf's Blood Swordgrass. These are acquired from defeating enemies you have been summoned to via the Covenant emblem, or as possible drops from Ghru Grunts and Elders.

Rewards

  • 10 Old Wolf Curved Sword
  • 30 Wolf Knight's Greatshield & Wolf Ring
Aldrich Faithful

"The holy symbol of the Cathedral of the Deep, and crest of those who see beyond fire to the age of deep waters. Equip to pledge onself to the Aldrich Faithful covenant.

The faithful ensure that Aldrich, Devourer of Gods, remains undisturbed, by taking the form of loyal spirits and hunting down those who would trespass the ruined cathedral.

Summoning takes place automatically while this is equipped."

Joining

  • You must obtain the item: Aldrich Faithful and equip it.
  • In Irithyll of the Boreal Valley, from the Pontiff Sulyvahn bonfire, proceed straight through the door, left up the stairs and right through the valley of dead giants and into the door at the far end. Immediately on your left is a wall that can be struck to reveal a ladder. Descend the ladder and fight the two Sulyvahn's Beasts that guard Archdeacon McDonnell, who will be located in the north-west corner of the room.

Effects of Covenant

  • Faithful phantoms are blue with a red tint.
  • Will be summoned randomly to defend around the Anor Londo area (you don't have to be in that area to be summoned).
  • If the covenant symbol is flashing-white in your screen, it means you're searching for an intruder.

Rank Requirements

Players can increase their rank in the covenant by offering acquired Human Dregs Items to Archdeacon McDonnell in the shrine behind the Illusory Wall in Irithyll of the Boreal Valley. These can be acquired via the successful invasion of other players whilst wearing the covenant item or as a drop from the Deacons in Anor Londo & around the Pontiff Sulyvahn bonfire. (Note: invasions using the red eye orb while wearing the covenant item will not yield you a Human Dreg. You will obtain a pale tongue.)

Rewards

  • 10 Human Dregs Great Deep Soul
  • 30 Human Dregs Archdeacon's Great Staff

@Punt The Proof of a Concord Well Kept is just a special reward from the Darkmoons, and gives you two concords if you use it- like large souls would.
Punt Aug 17, 2018 @ 10:51pm
While in the Blades of the Darkmoon, I seem to get the Proof of a Concord Well Kept if the mad phantom is the only enemy. When a second player (not mad) invaded, then we killed the mad and the normal, I just got two Proofs of a Concord Kept. (note: not fully confident in my memory for obtaining Well Kept, I just know I had one.)

1 day, I will know how it feels to be summoned as a darkmoon (I really want to see the phantom colour), but I may never be, so I just keep using white soapstone to have something to wait
CrypticScott  [author] Mar 18, 2017 @ 3:51am
That I honistly think it may just be a bug in the game!

"If the invader returns home, or is killed by the spear throwing giant in Irithyll of Boreal Valley, the Blade of the Darkmoon will NOT be rewarded a Proof of a Concord Kept."
By this you mean the giant in Irithyll dungeon right ? I asked the same question in the wiki page but no one answered, so I'm confused. I did have one time got summoned into Irithyll dungeon and the red phantom was killed before I got to them. DUTY FULFILLED popped up on my screen but I get no rewards.
CrypticScott  [author] Mar 17, 2017 @ 3:11pm
@Dan you should get the reward, in those cases where the invader falles i have always recived the reward. And this is pretty much the wiki i just but it on steam for easier access.
Oldbuddy Mar 17, 2017 @ 6:31am
This guide looks identical as the page on Fextralife wiki. So I still have some questions here.
Does the blue phantom get the reward if they did not score the killing blow of the enemy phantom ? For example the enemy phantom tripped and fall of a cliff and killed himself.
