Introduction!
Hello, my name is Suteac and I have been playing CSGO consistantly for nearly three years. I have developed many tips and tricks on how to improve and develop your aim and tactics, so you can finally get to that next rank! I consistantly train for 60 hours a week, and have found common do's and dont's of practicing. I find that most people still haven't found out the secret of how to get your mind to retain the information while practicing because most players go about training completely wrong! In this guide you will not only learn how to consistantly aim better than you're simple minded opponents, but also how to trick them in the mental aspect of CSGO. So if you want to get to DMG, quick and fast, and you are willing to read the rest of this guide, then you'll be on your way to to getting a badge in no time!
STEP 1: MENTALITY
Mentality in CSGO is one of the biggest subjects that I could talk about. There are so many different subjects, that I could talk about it for hours, which is why I'm going to compose it into 3 Simple Steps

1. Knowledge: Arguably the most important aspect of mentality, it covers: Game sense, Flash/ Smoke/Molotov positions, prefires, Clearing of sites, Bomb plant positions, When to Spray/Burst/Tap, and everything inbetween to use your brain to get the edge on the enemy. Just using you're brain, and peeling around corners instead of walking straight into a enemies angle can be the difference between an entry frag, and your team rushing B and losing the round because you already died.

2. Endurance: Everyone's mind has a cap off point; basically what that means is, the longer you have to tap into the knowledge aspect of CSGO, the more endurance you're using to keep yourself alert. After long periods of time your mind will start to wander involuntarily, and your reflexes will start to get slower, ultimately giving the enemy the advantage. But no worries there are ways to combat this, as I will show you later in this guide.

3. Motivation: We've all had that guy on our team that complains about everything and how everyone sucks, when he's doing bad himself; or perhaps he is doing good, but he's baiting, and being a bad sport. That can Tilt a team; or basically put them off from their peak preformance of play. Tilting occurs in any scenario where the realization and chance of winning becomes diminished by an overwhelming odd. This can be caused by a number of things such as, Enemy Teams having a large lead, an unhelpful teammember, Smurfs and Cheater, and decreased endurance. The key is to try to accept losing as a learning experience, and try to get better to beat them next time.

When Knowledge, Endurance, and Motivation combine teams can be beaten even when stacked with overwhelming odds, and if you win enough rounds, you can even flip the enemy teams mentality!

Here is an example video of what happens when you keep a strong mentality in a tilted game:

We had a bot from the beginning of round 1, and lost multiple rounds in a row. We took a timeout at halftime, and I gave my team a pep talk, and told them they would do great. That was the result, all from mentality!
STEP 1 PART 1: (Knowledge)
Even if you have the worst accuracy in the world, if you have good knowledge of the game, and can anticipate/counter the enemies moves, you would still win! There are two ways to get better at being knowledgable: playing actual games and practice.

Unfortunately, the only way to improve your game sense is through learning from your mistakes (which is why again you should accept losses as a learning experience). You can watch pro streams to get better, but i find this EXTREMELY less effective.

There are however, some areas that we can practice and help with in the skill department: Grenades and Spray control

For grenades i would go to http://operationl2p.com/ and practice the basic grenades on the maps that you play the most. Learn how and when to throw them, the more grenades you learn, the more spots it opens on the map!

In case you don't know already, If you see an enemy at long range, or only his head is visible, you tap. If he is at medium range you burst from the head down to the chest, and if he is on your neck, you spray that sucker down. For Tap/Burst/Spray control I would use the Fast Aim & Reflex training map found below.
Click Here to Get the Map!

While training just keep the long/medium/short affect in rule.
STEP 1 PART 2: (Endurance)
Endurance is very hard to perfect, and most proffesional players can't even harness it to the full potential. It's not something that gets better with more practice, infact quite the opposite unless you train it right! After a long period of time playing csgo, your mind will begin to get tired, you will start doing worse and you won't know why.

Every person has a different limit when it comes to endurance, and I can't tell you your's, it's something you have to figure out on your own; however, once you notice your skill deteriorating, it's improtant to TAKE A BREAK. I would even go as far as to say, even if you don't feel worn take a break at least every 2 hours. I don't necessarily mean quit everything all together, but you need to stop playing csgo for about 10-30 minutes. this will reset your mind. In those minutes I would recommend massaging your wrist and fingers slowly and thoroughly over a warm faucet. I would also recommend you to go run outside to restimulate your brain. It is very important to take these breaks or you will be a useless 5th man on the team, and nobody wants that!

There are some times when you can't take a break, and this often happens to pro's when they are in a long match with 5+ OT's. This will not happen in MM, but if you do happen to have an abnormially long game it's important to be wary of your mental state. if your entire team is alive and you die first, and you have spare time, do some quick exercises next to your computer to give your mind a quick break, and to restimulate it. Try not to focus on one thing too long, and make sure that you have a good energy drink at the ready if you know ahead of time the match might be long.

Exercise is very important, it is scientifically proven to restimulate nuerons in your brain that will fire faster, and give you better reaction times if you are falling behind.

And lastly, if you have been playing for 12 hours straight and it's 1am in the morning, you're not only losing your endurance, but you're also getting tired, and no amount of exercise can fix that. If this happens, it's best to call it a night, and to go bed to wake up early, so you can start playing again.
STEP 1 PART 3: (Motivation)
Motivation in it's whole can drastically change your preformance from top fragger, to bottom fragger or vice verca; however, it is often very hard for average players to control their dedication and motivation if they become tilted. Motivation can often be tied with endurance, but can also be subject to many different situations; for example, if I had played too long without taking a break, I might do worse, which will in turn give me less motivation, and overall will decrease the amount of rounds i contribute to in the game, often resulting in a loss. See, how it domino effects how you play?

The trick to motivation is to calm yourself down when you die. try to analyze why you died, and how the opponent got the advantage on you instead of calling him a hacker. calling out to the team is also immediatley important, but a person with tilted motivation may not be so inclined to do so.

Remember, every game is a LEARNING EXPERIENCE.
Once you start analyzing the situation in a postitive way instead of a negative one, you will start doing better almost instantaneously; however, there is a problem to this. Most average players around you, as I'm sure you've noticed, don't know this, and don't care to know it either. This is where communication comes in, you must be able to communicate with him, and pull him out of a tilted state; however, sometimes words aren't enough. Try your hardest to win a round with a 4k or even an ace, as unlikely as it sounds, it's your only hope, because most people don't believe in words, they believe in actions.

If you can learn to control your motivation, and even the motivation of others around you, that is a tremendous tool that you can use to help propel you to win many games! There are some games where you may wonder why you're bottom fragging when the enemy team is so much worse than you, it's usually because you have an incoherent team, or your team has lost their motivation.
STEP 2: WARM UP!!!
Warm up! Warm up! Warm up! To get your muscle memory back after not playing for a while, it is crucial that you warm up before starting any match. From deathmatch, to private maps, there are numerous ways to practice and get the best edge before you play a game, and I'm going to show the best way how. My way is amazing because, most people don't know a tip that saves your life and time when it comes to warmups!

First Load up Training_Aim_csgo2 found below

When you load into the map grab an AK-47, and walk over to the setting board.

Change the following to these values:
Amount:100
Delay:0.25
Static tar. Duration:0.50

Once that is changed, go to the second platform and hit start. hit as many of the red targets as you can.

below 50= Work on aim more
50-bad
60-average
70-good
80-great
90-awesome

I would do it 5-10 times for 5 minutes, it's crucial to not spend a long period of time on this, or your brain will start to go into a "auto-train" mode where you won't actually learn anything, even if you get better results.

Next go to the Aim_Botz Training map This is where you will practice your strafe/sidestep shooting. If you don't know how to strafe shoot click the video below.

For setting up the Aim_botz map you will want to make the bots two levels closer to you by shooting the green lines on the ceiling. (only the two farther ones so you still have about 5 levels of space). Once this is done practice strafe shooting for 5-10 minutes then move on to the next map.

You will now want to get the Recoil Master map, where you will practice burst and spray control.

Link here

Disable ghosthair, and click T target. Begin by shooting with the AK47 (7-10 bullets of burst at the target, moving from head to chest). do this for about 20 bursts, then do the same thing but with 10 full sprays of the AK47. Do this for both M4's as well.

Once finished spraying you will move onto the Fast aim and reflex training map that we downloaded earlier:

For this map, you will simply attempt to one tap heads with the deagle for 5 mins and do the same thing with the AK47 for 5 mins. once you finish tapping with ak, go for 2-3 bullet bursts at the head for 5 mins with AK47 as well.

Once finished with that we are nearly done! Now you will want to join a deathmatch server. I would recommend dedicated community servers, but it is up to you to find which server fits you best. Practice in Deathmatch for 10 minutes, and then you are warmed up and ready to play!

It's important to practice on 10 minute intervals on different maps for warm up, because if you practice for long periods of time on a single map, your brain will not retain nearly any of the muscle memory or information it learned while warming up! Now that you are finished warming up it's time to work on the final piece of getting better as a CSGO player. Your Aim!
STEP 3: Aim
When it comes to csgo, precision is crucial. if you can't hit the broadside of a barn, how are you going to help get frags? Lets make sure you're properly setup before we start talking about aim mechanics.

With a DPI of 400 your sensitivity should be anywhere from 1.3 - 2.7 It is up to your preference and playstyle to choose your correct sensitivity, and it might take a while before you choose the right one! If you have a different DPI than the one stated above you can simply calculate your true sensitivity and scale it from there. Your true sensitivity is = DPI x Sensitivity. My sensitivity is 2.25, with a DPI of 400 so if i multiply those together i get 900. so your true dpi should be anywhere from 520 - 1080.

Now choosing a sensitivity is tough. If you like to play as an awper, you would likely opt for a lower sensitivity to give yourself more consistency. If you are an entry fragger, you'll likely have a higher sensitivity, so you can peek angles faster. Now that you have a base, it's up to you from there to personally decide how you would like to define your sensitivity even further. One good tip of advice is to make sure you can at least turn 180 degrees with a full swipe of the mouse if you have a smaller mouse pad.

If you are still confused about sensitivity take a look at this video below

Now that you have a good standing sensitivity you need to learn where to put your crosshair! Always aim for the head if you are turning corners, unless you know he's crouching or playing an off angle of course. It is important to peel around corners instead of just poking out. The video below will show you how to do this:

It is also very important to learn how to isolate yourself from multiple players, so you can take 1 on 1's instead of 3 on 1's. this video by voo will explain it more indepth.

One of the final things regarding aim that i can give you a tip on, is that I see a lot of new players moving and shooting with an assault rifle. don't do it. never never ever never ever. it is not worth it 99% of the time, because strafe shooting works a lot better.
Conclusion
I hope this guide helped you learn something, and made you a better player overall. If it helped, make sure you favorite, and keep updated on updates that might be released in the future. Thank you for reading my guide and I wish you good luck on your path to DMG, until next time.
