Description
Allows to change terrain surface

Are you tired of endless list of filler assets cluttering your parks panel and exhausting your buildings limit? Then this mod is for you!

This is a plugin for my Extra Lanscaping Tools mod that allows to paint terrain with standard decorative types of surface (pavement, gravel, field, ruining). Note that this mod doesn't provide any custom textures. And it won't provide any custom textures/surfaces because it's not possible. It simply tells the game to render pavement, fields etc. in painted areas.

Make sure that both Extra Landscaping Tools and Surface Painter are enabled in Content Manager before complaining. Also, this mod requires the latest version of Extra Lanscaping Tools to function so you can try re-verify local game cache if nothing else helps.

Tool is available through 'Surface Tool' button on main toolbar. Use left mouse button to paint and right mouse button to erase.

This mod also provides 'no override' mode (press Shift key while painting). With that mode surface tool becomes aware of surface under buildings, trees and roads and doesn't override surface in such places.

This mod can be safely disabled at any time. But painted surface will return to stock appearance if you disable this mod.

Known conflicts:
- Find It!'s 'Enhance all panels' feature makes this mod's surface selection panel blank. You don't have to turn off the entire Find It! to make it compatible with this mod and Extra Landscaping Tools. Just go to Find It!'s options and disable 'Enhance all menus' option there.

Planned features:
- Brush rotation mod integration (to be implemented in Extra Lanscaping Tools)
- Surface painting in Map Editor

I realized how important this mod is when everything I ever painted in my 300hour savegame is gone. Many others have the same problem...

Awesome mod! For me it is essential to even play C.S. I just hate all the green space between high rises. It looks so unrealistic when you create down town areas for example.

Unfortunately I also have problems with surfaces just dissapearing. After spending 15 hours after a long break from the game, everything was suddenly gone. Instantly closed the game and put it on hold again >_<

@phatmotorsports51 Save your game under a new name every time, this way works for me.

i paint a surface with this mod, save the game come back and its all gone. Shitty when you spend 3-4 hours detailing stuff only for it all to disappear

With the landscaping tool I can't change the landscape at all nor can I use this whislt having it enabled.
It used to work before, so what happened?

I was skeptical about getting this mod based upon so many people saying they have issues with it. Literally all I did was subscribe to this mod (I already have Extra Landscaping Tools subscribed), and my game wouldn't load. I have loading screen mod installed, and normally the timer stops at about 3 minutes once mods like Hide It! starts removing tree ruining and cubemap replacer starts loading the cubemap, and the total load time completes around 5 mins. After subscribing to this mod, I waited for it to smoothly count up to 7 minutes before force closing. Clearly something got hung up during loading, and since literally the only thing I changed was adding this mod, I'm very inclined to think it was the problem. Such a shame, I would love to be able to use this mod. Seems to be very hit or miss on whether or not this mod works.
