I understand the confusion but yes, even the gizmo is completely flat in the game engine
The Gizmo has largest hitboxes than the Merc anyways "Biggest hitbox = biggest chance to counter shot" is only true at low level.
Once you have acquire experience you can air roll and easily cover a same/larger area with many cars.
About air control : its the same for every cars.
About the weak rotation angle : When you have to take crazy angle to turn around you are sliding and sometimes sliding/boosting, this way your base rotation angle has a very minor impact on your game.
If you take a close look u'll notice that, for example, that the breakout have a decent amount of pickup at pro level (Flat cars are loved for aerials+controls... Flat + the octane ! ),and it has some very bad rotation angle stat.
The rotation angle is really something we shud stop to concider.
Conclusion : The Merc is not a good car because :
-With air rolls you can cover the same area with many cars.
-Very bad control with the ball on the roof.
-Not very good hitboxes for aerials
