Introduction
Hello! To those who may not know me, I am TheBlackFalcon, and I'm a Pyro Main on TF2. Knowing quite a bit about said class, I run a series on my channel based around fun to use and interesting loadouts for everyone's favourite mumbling megalomaniac.
Why am I credible?
At the time of writing, I have over 1100 hours on TF2, with almost 300 hours on the Pyro himself, meaning I know more than most about this class.

Part 1 - Why does this work?
Firstly, I want to take a minute and just point out why this is a very effective strategy, especially on defense. First things first, Pyros are arguably the Spy's biggest enemy, with an Engineer's biggest enemy arguably being the spy. So, a decent Pyro teamed with an engineer is pretty damn effective, mainly because it gives the engineer one less class to worry about, and with that class being the most frustrating for an engi, it sets up a golden friendship. Something else is Projectile weapons. Something else that can easily destroy a sentry is a soldier or a demoman, but a decent Pyro can easily reflect these away and keep the sentry from going down quickly. Another thing would be ubercharges. Now, bear in mind, I'm taking about the stock Medigun, not the Kritzkreig or any of the other Mediguns, since they don't provide immunity. No, dear friends, the Stock Medigun's ubercharge provides immunity, which when paired with a heavy, can mean devastation for the engi's aimbot of a gun. How do we counter this as a Pyro? Airblast, dear friends. You have to make the ultimate sacrifice, if need be. Air blast the pair away, keep them from doing harm to the gun. Force them to aim at you, if you must. At the end of the day, the Py-bro's main calling in life is the very Sentry he has sworn to protect.
Part 2 - Looking the part!
As usual - You've gotta look the part! Personally, I recommend Pyro's Beanie[backpack.tf], paired with the Pop eye[backpack.tf], and the Cute Suit[backpack.tf]. There's no real reason I chose these, other than the fact that it just looks plain stupid.
Part 3 - Weapons / Alternatives
For this loadout, there's actually a fair amount of choice and personal preference involved. I'm going to outline what I personally use, and then outline some alternatives. Personally, I use the Stock with the Scorch Shot, and the Homewrecker. I prefer the stock, because after Tough Break, it became the best all-round flamethrower, meaning you can airblast much more efficiently. It does 6 afterburn damage per second and takes 20 ammo to airblast, and if you put someone out who is on fire, you regain 20hp. The Scorch shot is one of the more unique Flare guns as it has it's lil' jumpy thingie. Y-You hit them with the thingie and it hops - not a clue what to call that. If you hit an enemy directly, they set on fire and the flare hangs around before slowly falling to the ground, setting anyone near it on fire. The reason I take this is because it has an area effect, meaning you can take out enemy demoman stickies with much more efficiency than normal. Finally, the homewrecker. I feel like it's a pretty well understood weapon, but, just to be on the safe side, I'll explain it. The homewrecker does less damage to players, however it does double damage to buildings, meaning enemy engineers running mini sentries are screwed. That coupled with the fact that it removes Sappers from buildings in one hit makes it one of the most powerful weapons in this set, as it means that you can counter the sapper much more effectively than an engineer.
Alternatively, you may want to use the Degreaser as it offers the better swap speed, meaning you can quickly swap to your melee to take out the sapper, however since Tough Break, the Degreaser is more viable for 1 on 1 fights puff n sting style, more like an assassin from some kind of moba. The increased airblast cost and decreased afterburn time mean that you have to be quick to strike and kill your opponent, as if they get away, there's little chance they'll die. Finally, you may wish to swap out the Homewrecker for the Neon Annihilator, as it crits wet players and removes sappers in two hits."But falcon, you don't know what you're talking about! There's no water on half of the maps in the game that is titled squad castle the second!" And that's where you'd be sort of wrong and sort of right. Ask, or even just check in spectator, if anyone on your team is using the jar of apple juice (pee) or the suspicious white liquid (♥♥♥), as being coated in a thick layer of either counts as the player being wet. And what might that mean? You guessed it. Crits for days. Or, at least, as long as the scouts on your team don't wear all lime cosmetics and have [SCOUT MAIN IRON TEAM] in their name. Any way you choose to play, playing Pybro is a lot of fun, with friends or with randoms.
Part 4 - Mindset + Video
Mindset
Obviously, a Pybro is nothing without his Engineer buddy. (Friendgineer.) The best mindset is to actually act like an Engi but with a flamethrower and flare gun. Hang around the sentry gun, reflecting what you can, spy check as often as possible and always watch your engineer's back. And if you see a building being sapped, airblast the Spy away as best you can, give him a good puff of fire for good measure, and smack that Sapper with your melee weapon, therefore saving the day like the good Pybro you are!

Side note - Any comments hating on the Pyro class will be deleted. If you think the class is a "W + M1 with no skill" class, then kindly keep it to yourself. Constructive criticism, however harsh sounding, will not be deleted. Thank you.

Side note: If you've seen any of my other guides, then you may have noticed I did this one differently. I'd like to know which "style" you prefer, me going through all the weapons one by one, or something more like what I did here. Thanks!

Hot Hand seems to have a similar use to the Disciplinary Action, which can make a good Pybro weapon.

Gotta say, I found this and your other guides really helpful. I dunno if you still play TF2 or not, but I would love to see more guides from you, even if it's not for Pyro, who is my most played class. Sure I stopped playing them because I'm trying to diversify the classes I play, but I'm still a Pyro main at heart.

Anyways yeah, if you still play TF2 I want to see more guides.

The pyro class is often seen as the class with the lowest skill celing, and although this may be true, loadouts like this add depth to any cass, and are why the game is called TEAM fortress 2. Good on you for spreading the word of teamwork
