All Jecht Spheres Locations

Final Fantasy X has a total of 10 Jecht Spheres located all around Spira. Collecting all 10 Jecht Spheres will unlock Auron's final overdrive and will unlock the 'Messenger from the Past' Steam achievement. Luckily, none are missable. You can first start collecting Jecht Spheres once you reach Macalania Woods and defeat the Spherimorph boss. There will be a scene afterwards and you'll earn your first Jecht Sphere as part of the story. From that point on you can collect the Jecht Spheres. The one Jecht Sphere to be wary of is the one in Besaid as it will become blocked once you get the Airship and the Dark Aeons appear.

Jecht Sphere Locations

The Jecht Spheres can be collected in any order after the first one in Macalania Woods. I've just numbered them below to make it easier for you all to understand.



1. Macalania Woods
Storyline related. Defeat the boss in Macalania Woods.



2. Besaid Village
To the right of the temple, not on the stone walkway.
Note, that you need to backtrack to get this before you get the airship, if you wait until afterwards you will be required to defeat Dark Valefor to get this one.



3. S.S. Liki (Ship from Besaid to Kilika)
It's on the bridge of the ship in the captain's cabinet. To get this one, travel to Besaid and board the ship which will take you to Killika.



4. Luca
In the back of the hallway outside of the Auroch's locker room on the right.



5. Mi'hen Highroad
The southernmost end of the Old Road near the chest containing the Mars Crest.



6. Mushroom Rock Road - Precipice
South of the elevator that led to the prepping area for Operation Mi'hen. The place where you spoke to Luzzu for the last time. It's close to the save sphere.



#7. Moon Flow - South
On the southern end of the Moonflow in front of the tent. Not far from the Save Sphere.



8. Thunder Plains - South
Right hand side of the path about half way to the Travel Agency.



9. Macalania Woods - South
To the right of the Save Sphere at the entrance to Macalania Woods.



10. Mount Gagazet
It's hard to explain the directions as to where this Jecht Sphere is located. Therefore the video below shows you how to get to the Jecht Sphere located in Mount Gagazet. (This video wasn't uploaded by me. A big thanks to 'Akamatzu' for uploading the video.

And that's it! Congratulations! Not only did you unlock all of Auron's overdrives but you also unlocked the 'Messenger from the Past' Steam Achievement! Good job!

For the highroad you can actually hire a chocobo from the entrance to where the operation was all the way to Lucas entrance. Just talk to the women in yellow near the cage in the right, the sphere in Mushroom Rock is actually a Aurons Sphere, I went back when I had this on PS2 and have done know as by about 4 if them you unlock 2 of Aurons overdrives

Backtracking is good and all (and this guide is perfect) but I will never have the feels of comming back to all theses places after the end of the story for the first time ever again

Also, if you do backtrack as soon as you can you will actually see the footage form them in order. And if you play this on steam you can press F1 (speed) and F4 (battles) if you just quickly want to run back.

You can backtrack, but it's important to do so shortly after beating the Spherimorph boss. Because shortly after, due to events in Macalania Temple, you'll be unable to enter Guadosalam from the Thunder Plains. It is time-consuming, but preparing to battle Dark Valefor will be equally so, if not more. So it's really up to you.

You can backtrack all the way to Besaid before getting the airship. As soon as I beat Spherimorph and saw the first Jecht Sphere, I backtracked all the way to Besaid.

Macalania Woods -> Thunder Plains -> Guadosalam -> Moonflow -> Mushroom Rock Road -> Mi'ihen Highroad -> Luca -> Kilika -> Besaid

I also picked up every Jecht Sphere on the way there. Now all I have to do is get the one at Mt. Gagazet when I get there and I'll have every Jecht Sphere collected!

@Ghin, you cant backtrack before the airship because the guys at guadosalam dont let you past when you attempt to enter from Thunder Plains.

@Ghin If you plan on getting all Steam achievements, you'll have to defeat Dark Valefore anyways to unlock Penance.

Do you think it's worth it to go back to Besaid before the airship? It would take quite a long time to get there.
