Bastard Katzbalger Weapon Skin for the Greatsword

This particular Katzbalger is a bastard mashup of typically different sword components and would have been intended for 2 handed use. It is likely of Swiss or German origin and construction. Probably manufactured in the 15th-16th century late medieval-renaissance era.

Katzbalger swords where the signature weapon of the Landsknecht : German colourful mercenaries whom roamed the 15th and 16th century. also known for their use of the Zweihander Landsknecht that fought with polearms or crossbows would rely on the short arming sword known as Katzbalger as a sidearm. The distinct feature of these swords being an ‘S’ shape or ‘8’ shape guard. Although this variety of sword was most commonly made as a short blade type with rounded tip, it was not uncommon for larger Greatsword sized variants of the Katzbalger that would have functioned as a primary weapon. These larger bastard Katzbalgers could have probably rivalled the Zweihanders of the time in dimension, function and infamous stature. As I see it and I hope you agree that any swords employed alongside the Zweihander in history are a lore friendly addition to Chivalry and Vanguard class as a whole.
