How to create a successful Military-themed Roleplay

The basics of hosting a Military themed Roleplay.

Introduction

You've seen roleplays on Blockland many times before. Whether its a Family RP, Disaster RP, and of course your Military RP. I know some people have wanted to host their very own roleplay out the vast amount of roleplays you can host on this game. this one focuses on Military Roleplay.

If you do not know what this class of Roleplay this is, (In which i find unbelievable) i shall explain

"A Military Roleplay is a roleplay in which participants take the role of a Soldier enlisted in a made-up force, or real life forces, for example, the US Marine Corps."

Lets start with the basics

Basics

I've seen some Military Roleplays consist of only the stock map "Sirrius Military Compound", and the stock firearm "Gun" used. This is not the right thing to do, this is what i call "Bland army." You need a little spice in your server. This spice is called "Add-ons," this is essential to make people come and stay for the longest time in your server. Some essential add-ons, or "mods" you will need are listed below:

But mods will only get so far. You need a custom map. this ranges from you building it on your own, you building with help, or editing maps you can download to what is required. This can be done using the "Modter" bricks given to you as stock landscaping.

First, plant a base area, using 32x32 and up as a template. then, if it needs rounding, do so with matching slanting bricks. Continue to do this to make Hills, valleys, and etc. This is, not "needed" but is definitely recommended.

What to expect

This is Blockland, its not even a choice to have people who don't obey your orders or just be a total ♥♥♥♥ to you while you're roleplaying. Look out for these people

And the list will not stop there.

Also expect not to have millions upon millions of players join INSTANTLY. New roleplays will take a while to be noticed and liked among the community.

Enemies and Advanced

Enemies are a key part of a military roleplay, it isn't really a war-themed roleplay without someone to shoot at. There are two types of enemies you can use in a M-RP.

• Bots
  
• Players

Bots are unpredictable, they have spot on aim, and will usually go to hostility unless evented not to do so. Also, beware of having turreted vehicles be without turrets when using bots
However, bots are a good thing to have as Civilians and/or enemies because players will not have to move sides to become an assailant.

Player enemies can be somewhat predictable, give them orders to stay and/or attack your base or during a firefight. These players will need a special team and their own themed weaponry


Sometimes landscape and other items will not do the trick. Do not forget to event some items or make something that could give both teams the edge in battle.

Speaking of battle, shooting guns with and endless clip on a flat ground is boring as all hell. Add some hills, small indents in the ground and banks in the ground to spice up battle.
