Stuck in firstperson or want to have your rebel to be placed left on the screen while playing in thirdperson? No problem!

Activating console

Skip this section, if you already know how to open up your console.

If you want to change your view, you need to have your console open.
Let's begin writing something before you start Synergy.

Goto your Library on Steam, then right-click Synergy and goto Properties.
Click "Set Launch options..." and write in:

Click OK, then start Synergy.


You got now the console open, now first, bind a key to toggle console on and off.
e.g. bind F4 toggleconsole
If you typed that in, you can toggle console by pressing F4 on your keyboard.

You can replace F4 with any key on your keyboard. It could be L, or F1, it's all up to you.

Activating Thirdperson

If you know already how to activate thirdperson, skip this.

Activating thirdperson is simple. Join a game and press F3 by default.
If it isn't happening for you, simple bind a key under the options menu. Goto the "Keyboard" tab, then go down where it says "Switch Camera Modes" (which is under the Miscellaneous section).



Alternatively, if you have the console open, bind a key with "cameramode".
e.g. bind F3 cameramode

Changing Thirdperson view

You got now thirdperson figured out. Now, you might see that you probably have your rebel placed on the right side of the view, but most people do choose left-sided. Right?

No worries, we can deal with it. First off, you need to have your console open.
After you have your thirdperson and console open up and ready, there are only two simple commands that may help you change your view.

cam_offset_right

(cam_offset_right -20 by default)
This will change the view left or right. Negative values will change the view to the left, while positive values will change the view to the right.


I assume you got this view: (cam_offset_right -20)



Let's change it to cam_offset_right 0, see what happens?
As you might guessed, it changed the view to the middle.



Now, cam_offset_right 20!
Woohoo! Great! I always wanted to be left-sided.

Let's head to the second command!

cam_offset_forward

(cam_offset_forward 50 by default)
This will change the view closer to your character or far away from your character. The higher the value is, the more further away is your character. And the lower the value is, the closer the view is to your character.

This is by default: (cam_offset_forward 50)
Legion covers my entire screen though.



Let's change it to cam_offset_forward 75
Looks better than the previous one, right? Still, it covers my screen.



How about cam_offset_forward 90?
Much better! Love it to see other enviroments behind the screen.


There are other cam_ commands as well, but they aren't required because they don't do nothing and needs cheats to be activated. However, those two simple commands are enough to customize your view.

Q: Do the commands save when I typed them in the console?
A: They do.

Q: What happens, if you put a lot of values (such as 9999999999) in the command?
A: The view will change a lot, even mess up a bit, but comes to the point where it starts off to the beginning. However, it will not crash your game.
