An involved admin meets a lot of players and tries to remember as much of the encounter as possible in order to enhance their server. What country this guy's from, who he's allied with, who raided him and who he raided and other trivia from nights spent chatting with him. As a result of all this data certain player types begin to emerge. I should point out that this is about a modded server and was originally written for a steam group discussion.

We'll get this guy out of the way first:

1: The Beggar
Every admin knows this guy and gets to know him fast. (Although we haven't had one on the server in a while.) The dizzying far end of needy. He thinks that if he calls an admin you're supposed to drop what you're doing and tp to him. He will spend an hour relentlessly asking you for loot on chat, lying through his teeth and trying to bend the truth and any of your previous words cos he prefers typing to playing the game and going to get the bloody stuff himself. He mostly just wastes time, yours and his. So he never becomes very powerful and he's normally too weird to get on with other players so doesn't join clans so much. When he meets other players it doesn't go well, there are incidents and grudges, conflict and anger. He has a huge talent for making himself a target for the big clans. And usually anything you give him is not enough and he'll moan about that. If I see this guy making a friend or forming a clan I get hopeful about the state of humanity. And then I get worried about what they're going to do next. Now I know the signs I can usually avoid all that. When you see "Admin give me c4 bp," coming up on chat that's my cue to tell him to go hit a bunch of trees and rocks. When the guy needs you for something, even if you're staring at the wall you make him wait.
I do try to work with them of course and give them the same care I give everyone. One time one of them followed me to Superfin in the first few weeks of the server. I've done plenty for the guy on a different server but I was a player at this time and I didn't have to be so professional. I could say what I wanted. I'm in the middle of a firefight (as a player remember) and its kicking off big time, 4 of us went up against 2 guys and stormed their base. I'm nearly certain I know who it was (see type 3 below, I'm good friends with them both now) when headwreck almighty joins the server, sends tp requests one after the other and keeps messaging me:

19:47 - xxxxxx: what server
19:48 - theyellowfury: fin/en Superfin
19:48 - xxxxxx now playing Rust. Click here to join.
(5 minutes of /tpr)
19:53 - theyellowfury: sorry, I'm very busy now
19:53 - xxxxxx: pls
19:55 - xxxxxx: are you admin here?
19:55 - theyellowfury: no
19:55 - xxxxxx: what are you doing?
19:55 - theyellowfury: busy
(more /tpr)
20:39 - xxxxxx: can you tp now?
20:43 - xxxxxx: tp pls
20:44 - theyellowfury: f**k off
20:46 - xxxxxx is now Offline.

OH! And he wants to be an admin. 'We're not looking for anyone now but I'll consider you after you've been here for a good amount of time' Translation: On yer bike.

2: Mr.Nobody
This guy makes the admins' jobs easy.
He plays the game to a solitary code, trusts few, never asks for anything and will refuse help on principle. He builds brilliant, confusing bases that almost melt into the landscape and rarely get raided. Raiders frequently miss his loot. He's quite successful but not hugely wealthy and maybe has 100 c4 lying around in the late game though you won't catch him raiding for the first week, he has to prepare his grand plan. Usually quite a nice guy if he actually talks to you. You almost never see him walking around, a total Sam Fisher Splinter Cell operative. Probably plays chess and poker well.

3: The Bad Guys
At all times a server needs one (group) of these. They shoot everyone and they all play csgo. They rob everyone and build giant monster bases at the edge of the map with 20 quarries and 50 furnaces. They are both vicious and hardworking and the speed at which they operate is blinding. They get accused of hacking by salty ex-owners of what used to be nice bases on a regular basis.
A week to two weeks after they arrive on the map, a group comprising most of the other players gets together and lays waste to them and a decent portion of their empire. Epic raid, noisy server, great. :)

4: The Dogs of War
This is the military industrial complex, tip of the development arrow. This is most of the players on the map. And particularly the medium to large successful organised clans. They all play csgo and they will get involved in an online raid whenever there's one available. They're good players who work hard and as a team, delegate responsibility between them and mid to late wipe cycle they'll have about 300 c4 available at any time for anyone who dares to mess with them. If there's a trick they know it. If there's a fight they're in it. They wear uniforms which I think is so cool..

Update 12/03/16: Here's why I think that:
The uniforms of the Imperial Guard are camouflaged in order to protect their wearers by hiding them from sight.
The principle is that what the enemy cannot see he cannot kill. This is not the way of the Adeptus Astartes. A Space Marine’s armour is bright with heraldry that proclaims his devotion to his Chapter and the beloved Emperor of Mankind. Our principle is that what the enemy can see, he will soon learn to fear.

.. and have recurring themes for their many funny signs. And they are the life blood of any server.
You get your nazi and Donald Trump clans from time to time, they're related to the Bad Guys because they try to annoy people. If you want a figure of hate on the front of your base what's wrong with Peppa Pig?

5: The Nutter
This guy runs towards helicopters, he says 'I got this,' before running into a room with 15 turrets and getting riddled with lead. He 'accidentally' destroys his neighbour's stuff right in front of him, and then there's a big thing on chat. He will walk right into a raging firefight and try to ruin it for someone, he cares not whom. He seems to get into more conflict than anyone on the map and you will never predict his behaviour. He will do things you wouldn't even think of doing in a million years, will always leave you puzzled about what he was thinking and in spite of all that can be quite amusing in the rare moments when he's causing less trouble than usual. If you see him with a guitar, and you will, its very annoying but at least then you know he's busy and not breaking something. Fun fact: He's never more than 100 metres from a crude d*ck pic.

6: The 'My base is unraidable' guy.
The poor misfortunate little lambs, almost always good natured with less than 100 hours that have greatly overestimated their own skill in relation to the skill of ALL of the above groups. No more than 48 hours after he says the fateful words someone is in his lovely but differently-abled base, that he's very proud of, turning it from Camembert into Emmental. Ragequits (or melancholia quits at any rate) are common, this is when a good admin tries to talk him into staying in return for some help. Even if he's not good for the server at least the rest of the guys will get one or two more raids out of him before the tantrum starts. And 99% of the time they are good for the server and they stick around, get into clans, find their feet and become strong players.

Everyone else.
Well you get your occasional wildcards but if you don't fall into one of the groups above I probably just haven't met you yet.

In response to a few inquiries the server I admin on is called Superfin

We have a few simple rules, are welcome. We are human people, we don't mind experimenting with the game and we have a feature or two we've never seen on another server.
