Overview
Ash is one of the most popular attack players in Rainbow 6 Seige. Many people pick her for her looks, but thats not the only reason she's one of the most vigorous operators in the game.

Ash is a fast paced operator with only 1 armour but 3 speed.





This makes her perfect for flanking the enemy by going around and attacking from a different direction. This is where map knowledge becomes very important because in order to utilise Ash's ability to it's full potential, the player must know which walls and floors are best to breach.
G36C vs R4-C
G36C

The main advantage of the G36C is the predictible recoil. This weapon is fairly easy to get used to and I would recommend it to newer players. Other than this there are not any more real advantages. For anyone with more than a few hours gametime I would recommend using the R4-C as it's far superior.


R4-C

In my opinion the R4-C is one of the best weapons in RS6. It has an excellent fire rate, decent mag capacity and a good amount of damage. What makes the R4C a difficult wapon to get used to is the very unpredictible recoil, making it hard to get headshots when starting out. I highly recommend practicing your aim with single shot rather than full auto as this will make getting headshots much easier.

Attatchments:

Grip:

Obviously, the best way to minimise the recoil is to add a grip. This only costs 50 renown and is vital to any weapon you use in the game. This attatchment will greatly improve your ability to aim when crouched making it very useful.





Sight:

Deciding which sight to use is almost completely personal preference and depends mostly on your play style. I would highly recommend using 2.5x zoom ACOG sight, as it is perfect for shooting enemies at a distance, through walls you destroyed using your breaching round, along with being very effective at clearing out rooms. Many people prefer less magnification on their sights, and for this I would recommend the triangle dot sight, which has a magnification of 1x because it takes up less screen space than the dot. It is also easier to track targets as the point has a smaller circumference and will therefore not cover your target when at a longer range. Some people like to use Holographic sight, but personally I find it too large, as it takes up lots of screen space.






Barrels:

Choosing which barrel to use is completely down to the way in which you play. I highly recommend the supressor as it reduces recoil by adding weight to the front of the weapon and also makes it very hard for the enemy to tell which direction they're being attacked from. The downside to the supressor is the fact that damage is reduced, meaning it is vital that you are able to get headshots. The flash muzzle hider is also a good alternative to a surpressor, as it does not affect the damage and still helps to hide your position sightly. For those who prefer a less stealthy approach the compensator is the best option as it reduces recoil, without affecting damage.

When playing Ash, you will likely not stay with the rest of your team. This could cause you to be last alive quite often. In this situation it is very useful to have a supressor as stealth is vital due to Ash's low armour.








Laser Sight:

Many newer players use laser sight thinking that it will improve their accuracy. My advice is NEVER use it, all it will do is give away your location. Only use it on shields or secondary pistols.
Breaching Charges vs Smoke
Choosing which tool to take with you depends on your team and what other players are taking with them. In order to make the right choise it is vital that your team communicate when choosing loadout.

Breaching Charges:

Because of Ash's special ability, breaching charges are less vital to have. Personally I prefer to use them over smoke grenades as it allows me to trick the enemy. For example placing a breaching charge on one side of a room, running around to the other side and then setting it off. This tactic should make the enemy look in the other direction allowing you to get easy kills on them from behind. They're also useful for clearing rooms that you enter at the start of the game without using ammo.

Smoke:

Using smoke grenades is perfect for confusing the enemy and allowing you to flank effectively. It is very important that you use them in communication with your team because it could also put your team mates at a disadvantage if you throw it near them.
Breaching Round
In my opinion the breaching round is one of the most powerful special abilities in the game. It allows you to destroy walls that are above ground level (for example above stairs) that would not be accessible using breaching charges. It also allows you to blow open walls the enemy team has peep holes in, causing the enemy behind the wall to retreat.

Another tactic that can be used is running to the defending team's reinforced walls as fast as possible and looking for a wall section that has not yet been reinforced. If you shoot it with your breaching round you can blow a hole in the wall before the enemy team has a chance to reinforce it. This will give your team a huge advantage as the enemy team would never be expecting such a fast attack.

The breaching round also allows you to clear doors that the enemy may be camping and looking under, for example if the bottom plank has been removed to allow better view of your feet when you place a breaching charge. In this situation the breaching round can catch the enemy off guard and allow for a fast kill.

On some maps, the floor above can be blown open (leaving just the metal poles) which can allow your team to get a few easy kills on unsuspecting enemies who are prone/ on the cameras.

You can also use the breaching round to trick the enemy into thinking you are attacking from a different location. For example shooting a wall on the other side of the room. It is important to remember that a bullet trail will be left by the round so this may not fool more experienced players.

With the exception of Frags, Beaching rounds are the only thing that can destroy deployable shields in RS6, making them VERY useful. It is common for enemies to go prone and camp behind them which means that if you blow up the shield, the enemy will be stuck and won't have time to get up and run before you kill them.

The breaching round deals 50 damage to enemies when shot at them, the explosion when shot at something else can also kill.

Anyone else not think this would be serious? I was expecting the guide to be this: "Step 1: Pick ash. Step 2: Run straight into objective room Step 3: Take defenders by surprise Step 4: Win"
