Contact information
Since so many people have been adding me recently instead of commenting, I thought I'd just link an easy way to contact me. I have a discord group for anything gaming related, just join the group to ask a question.

Didn't think I'd need a contact link but here we are. I don't mind though.

Finding the game's music
The game's music is stored in the directory:
Steam\steamapps\common\rocketleague\TAGame\CookedPCConsole

Some of the files with the extension .wem are the music files.
(Sorry, the game's sound effects are packed into .bnk files)

What each song's file is called
Here's a list of what files are what song. (Thanks to kTz for the list)

299675380 - Whiplash
53125187 - Flying Forever (feat. Morgan Perry)
538868718 - Rocket League Theme
542567663 - I Can Be (feat. Crysta)
660123685 - Firework
692999173 - Lacuna
718124356 - We Speak Chinese
759004570 - In My Dreams (feat. Nikki Wilkins)
926502865 - Breathing Underwater
993549143 - Seeing What's Next
1008183011 - Angel Wings
1073198515 - Love Through the Night
971390977 - Darkness

I'll add more as/when I find them out.
If possible when/if I'm able to edit sound effects, I'll try write a list for them here too!
Converting files to be used in Rocket League
First off, back up your files, preferrably in a folder elsewhere. For example:
common\rocketleague\TAGame\CookedPCConsole\backup music

You're going to need to make sure the file you're wanting implimented into the game is in .wav format, if it isn't, then here's the website I use that allows you to convert from .mp3 formats into .wav

Link to converter[audio.online-convert.com]

Next, you're going to need something that lets you convert said .wav file into a .wem file.
The program that can convert files to .wem is called Wwise.

Wwise[www.audiokinetic.com]

When in Wwise, all you need to do is start up a new project, preferably where you have your .wav saved, then go to project > Import Audio file and select your .wav

From there, click on the Defauly Work Unit section under Actor-Mixer Hierarchy, and click on your file. After the file loads up, set the voice to maximum (12), tip the "loop" checkbox, and the "stream" checkbox, then move to Source Settings.

In Source Settings, change the conversion Settings from "None" to "Vorbis Quality High". After that click "Edit" next to it.

From there, set it up as follows:
Channels - Stero
Sample Rate - 48000

Press edit at the end of this section too, and set the quality factor to 8, and the sample frames to 16384, then OK out and click convert, then OK again.

Now right-click the song file, and click "Open Containing Folder (Default Work Unit.wwu)", go back 1 folder, then go into the .cache file, then the windows file, and finally the SFX file, and there you go. Your .wem should be there.

Or you can watch Roberto Vega's video where he does everything I've just explained

Replacing Rocket League's current music
The last part is actually getting the .wem file into Rocket League. This is actually really simple.

Simply name your .wem the same as one of the game's default .wem's and replace that file. Then when you launch Rocket League the song should automatically work.
Smaktat's extra tips
While I've tried to put all of the information I currently know into the guide, other users have helped out a lot too, and just like the file name list from an earlier section, they've stepped in and added information and/or help that I missed. This section is that information. Full credit to Smaktat for this.

1) There are .wem file duplicates. You could change the extension and not impact that menu at all, but in fact be impacting another part of the game instead.

2) If the custom song added was of a length LESS than the song replaced, the song change will not happen automatically until the ORIGINAL song's length has fully played out. I know we pointed out the difference in song length GREATER than the original, but this is for songs less than that. That means there is a timer function in place to wait the full duration of the song before auto changing and we should attempt to replace songs close to the original's length.

To help me out with my second point, I copied and converted the songs in the Rocket League .wem folder to .ogg and played with VLC to figure out which songs were which. I've only done this for two songs so far. I stumbled upon a super useful Guide[forum.xentax.com] to help converting all the songs automatically.

Follow the portion under the heading "Guide: Converting .wem to .ogg." This won't delete the songs, it will create converted copies. YOU SHOULD BACK UP YOUR .WEM FILES ANYWAY. It's just smart. I created a folder next to all of my .wem's called "wem backups." No problems.

Another question I had was "are these file names the same for everyone?" My answer is yes, based on the list above. Didn't want to assume it even though it seemed obvious.
Known Issues
Volume:

Sometimes the music that plays in Rocket League is quieter than expected. If this happens, simply re-convert.

Music not playing:

Sometimes the music that you've tried to impliment doesn't play in Rocket League. This this happens, simply re-convert.

Song title doesn't appear:

If you've got a custom song in Rocket League, the song name and/or artist doesn't appear at the bottom corner, because the game doesn't know what it is.

The song you've put on cannot be longer than the original song, otherwise it will cut off when the original song was meant to end.

I currently do not know a fix for this, sorry.

Only like one second of the original song plays, then it cuts and goes silent untill you switch the song.

I thank you dearly for this guide, currently trying to get it to work albeit it's really really difficult.
I am tired of using a bot that detects if i am not in a match in order to play from a list of songs and overlay its metadata ontop of the usual rocket league player (which is muted).

How is a game from 2016 still this inflexible.
We are all in this, don't give up hope.

I have been trying for hours and I am really close but can't seem to get it to work. Can anyone help? SE7EN#7478 on discord. I can convert and even extract the songs and convert into oog so i know which song is which. Having issues getting my custom song into the right format. What made this outdated?
