Description

This is the Titan Toa Mata Nui that came in 2009 along with the Glatorian sets. Why I did this is because I never got to buy him, and because it'd be fun to have a big titan Bionicle for monster battles!

Warning! This model, because of its size, and when fully bonemerged/constructed CAN cause some lag for people with low-end PCs (if you use the big sizes, and have a lot of them). I recommend you do NOT upload dupes of this, or use this on a multiplayer server!

This addon contains 4 different sizes:

Small (literally the toy size)
Medium (original size, the same size I use for all my bionicle addons)
Big (a colossal size)
Titan (literally Godzilla worthy)

The only downside to this, is that you need to assemble them youself. Don't complain, because you need to understand how big this model is, and how many parts were involved in making it (217 objects) and how big its original vertex count was, 294,618 (and that's huge compared to the actual limit of around 30,000 verts (or less), some models can go higher, though. If it weren't "buildable" as I made it, this would be impossible to get into Garry's Mod, because it would look horrible after I completely reduced its vertices to the point were it will compile as a whole model. But yet I've managed to keep its original pristine condition, just barely.

The model isn't 100% exact to the toy version, because it contains pistons which are practically impossible to add to this model, otherwise posing might be difficult with the pistons going through the model and such...but I kept the back leg pistons, because I felt it was necessary, and easier to get by with, by having a bone to pose it manually (for that you'll need something like Joint Tool). I also added extra finger appendages that make the fingers longer, but adds a new joint, because that's what I've done when replicating the hand IRL.

Please don't mind that there is a template body thing in the bodygroups of matanui_medium (which is the base that you apply bodygroups to). His arms might be a bit stubborn sometimes...usually on the bigger versions. The shoulder blade armor is different from the sword version, because I only discovered I already had that piece, ;-; so I spent like a few hours making the old piece high poly, which in the end wasn't even necessary.

Construction:

This is just because,

1. Spawn all the parts for which size you want (i.e. medium).

2. matanui_medium is the base that you bonemerge to, he has a bodygroup to enable a template, just so you see where his limbs are before bonemerging. Enable it, if needed.

3. Use Easy Bonemerger and bonemerge each part that is a static prop to the base matanui_medium model (the one with the head) But remember to disable the template.

4. You're done. Use Advanced Duplicator to save a copy of the newly constructed Toa Mata Nui if you like, so you can just spawn him as a whole next time you open a new map.

But I strongly advise against uploading dupes, please don't.

This is actually a bit of what my Bionicle Project BYOM will be like, bonemerging parts onto a template (sadly I can't make it more complex). I will try to bring BYOM out this year, but there are no promises, as I have a lot of other projects to do.

A: No, sadly.

Q: Will you make an in-between the medium and big size?
A: No...you might be able to use resizer with this, but I haven't tested.

Q: Will you make the Mata Nui Great Being?
A: Yeh, I've thought about modelling him, he'd have different sizes too, and even possibly a pm/npc.

Q: Are you doing 2015/2016 Toa?
A: Yeh, but don't rush me, it will take time, because a lot of the parts I need to model.

Q: Will you make more titan sets?
A: Possibly.
