Description
Adds "Trust" and "Popularity" mechanics to campaigns, allowing all factions to get real powers from their own people.

**NEW : v1.4b - Diplomatic agreements, new riot system and non-cultural alliances changes.**NEW : v1.3 - Statesmen (civil generals) in towns now decrease your corruption level.

YOUR PEOPLE'S TRUST v1.4 - April 2016

Makes the game more rewarding and realistic. If you like it, please rate it !!

Our history teaches us that you just can't ignore your people's basic needs forever and sometimes you will want to meet their hopes for a better life as well. You want to stay as their leader and they will judge you. Fight at every turn through the expectations of your people! Choose strategically what to do, how and when because everything you do matters now! Don't let your cities be filled by hate and dissence against your leadership or the whole faction will suffer!

A new indicator will appear in your Faction Summary view reporting all benefits (or penalties) gained from your current Trust level (this mod adds 10 levels of Trust). Each of these levels applies a faction-wide, significant effect to your regions based on how "appropriate" your actions have been!

Be irresponsable, neglecting your basic social duties like bringing water in regions, building food storages, using your popular champions to incite crowds, assigning armies to skilled generals, sustaining social progress, making a proper use of your administrators, bringing glory through battles ...and your people will gradually hate and rebel to you.

On the contrary, be a perfect leader, pay attention to potential social issues and your people will follow you everywhere, offering incredible replenishment rates to your armies, a superb morale, a natural public order, wealth, growth and less recruitment costs!

Trust benefits / penalties :
  • Wealth from all sources
  • Faster Province growth
  • High Morale
  • Less Recruitment costs
  • A natural public order in towns
  • Unit Replenishment (reduced the effect of every other unhistorical source of replenishment)

HOW TO BUILD TRUST ?

The mod also adds a new tooltip when you mouseover the central round Faction button (please note that, due to a "raw border" in the upper button area, the mousover from below is better). You can read in the tooltip which "Classes" of actions (currently there are 16 historical sources) are contributing to your total Trust (max trust is obtained at 500 points whereas normal trust stays at 300-350 points).

1. Generals
  • Your people will trust popular and skilled generals; try making them ranked and "Legendary"!
  • Make your generals get popularity by fighting and medals (10 medals currently available)
  • Aged generals are real "examples" for your people, don't make them die.
  • Generals with civil skills/traits should stay garrisoned as Statesmen lowering your faction-wide corruption
  • Go organizing your campaign with properly "military skilled" commanders!
  • Don't make them stay too much under siege or too many turns in your own regions

2. Dignitaries
  • They work like real Administrators, creating fiscal efficiencies and optimizing social costs
  • Deploy or use them for training generals at every turn and in your regions, if you can
  • A dignitary is always welcome when entering your Capital City

3. Popular characters
  • You gain increasing Trust from your chars' popularity when they rank up (r6+)
  • Embed popular champions for training and inciting troops abroad
  • Dont forget to use your r6+ champions at every turn or people will complain!
  • Popular champions are always welcome in your home city

4. War
  • People accept/hate the War Status according to the specific faction you're playing
  • Declarations of war/Peace treaties impact on your people's expectations

5. Expansionism
  • Conquering/occupying new settlments
  • Recruiting new military units (for militaristic factions)
  • Gaining new Imperium levels
  • Subjugate your enemies!

6. Battles
  • Winning battles historically creates a large consensus among people, especially in heroic situations (less soldiers, weaker armies)
  • The better you win the more trust you will get!
  • Don't abuse of retreats or people will start thinking you're not very self confident
  • Being defeated while chased or while defending is more forgiving
  • Militaristic factions gain more trust benefits and penalties from war.

7. Leadership
  • People get disoriented if their beloved leader dies : distrust, local rebellions, temporary piracy and loss of public order everywhere
  • Hated and deeply distrusted leaders' deaths will be celebrated

8. Social
  • Give your regions enough water, fish, grain and social facilities
  • Build temples!
  • Ensure people in cities can use social entertainment facilities
  • Construct memorable religious/social buildings (level 5 only)
  • Prevent riots and rebellions
  • Don't militarize your faction (for non-militaristic)
  • Non-military recruitment creates new paid jobs

9. Food
  • Make Fish a real resource by building proper ports in your sea regions
  • Do care about agricoltural facilities!
  • Don't force your people to dangerous places like mines or caves
  • Make your regions grow
  • Prioritize Food Storages and Water facilities

10. Progress
  • Focus on social progress and achievements

11. Alliances
  • Accurately weight factions' cultures you're allying with!
  • Never betray an ally whoever they are

12. Commerce
  • Unused trade routes, profits from trade, piracy..
  • Your people need commerce and resources

13. Economy
  • Balance your income with upkeep % expenditures avoiding money losses and bankrupts
  • Maximize the efficiency of taxation (means more income without the need of higher taxes)

14. War prisoners management
  • Slaves are necessary in all cultures
  • Slaughtering/Releasing prisoners might get you some bonus in case you play specific factions

15. Defense
  • Interrupt blockades, sieges and sea raids as soon as possible
  • Don't let dignitaries and popular chars die assassinated!
  • Use your spies at every turn for preventing enemy actions
  • Defend your Capital Cities and your buildings from hostile actions

16. Diplomacy
  • Added trust/distrust due to positive diplomatic actions

COMPATIBILITY
  1. Compatible with Patch Level 17.
  2. Savegame compliant.
  3. Works with every mod and the following scripts/overhauls :

This mod urgently needs to find it's way into the next DeI update with the ancestry tree. I see all the aditions I read here are ABSOLUTELY necessary for the game---begging all to update this and have it work with DeI. Begging.
