Tank Armour Thickness Calculation.
By nuffe
*** Updated for Furness ***
A guide showing the "real" thickness of the sloped armour. One simple calculation to rule them all, one simple calculation to find them,
one simple calculation to bring them all and in the darkness bind them.

Intro
Ok, so apparently the method of calculating the thickness of sloped armour is like this:
'Armour thickness' / cos ( 'sloping degree' )

So if we use this math, we can then see the "real" thickness of the sloped armour. I'll only show the tanks with sloped armour, the boxy tanks arent worth the trouble.

Thank me later ;)
American tank armour.

the hellcat has shit armor, but ingame it can still survive a lot of damage lol

Hellcat is a glass cannon because although it may have poor armour it has the best speed of anything in the game and a amazing gun

The Hellcat has the wosrt armor, even worst than the crappy Stuart:steamfacepalm:

@One very spicy meatball
Only difference is mine isnt about where to shoot, only about finding the "real" thickness of the armour.

I made a guide just like this three days ago

this will help me in shooting down tanks, thanks bruh

I dont know if the game calculated thickness based on slope, but I know it calculated whether or not it will bounce or not based on angle and sloping.
And as I mentioned, writing all the sources used would be as long as the guide itself, so I didnt bother putting all that in there.
But I used this site for the American tanks, it seems to be pretty legit in its information, http://afvdb.50megs.com/usa/

@Rene Starson
I have used countless sources to find all the information; the games wiki, other peoples posts, websites listing all the armour specs of the tanks, etc etc. The devs have also chimed in from time to time on their streams talking about the games mechanics.
I'm just presenting the information I have found, its all based on a heap of other peoples info. If you dont believe the values to be true, go do the research yourself, I think you wont be so surprised that the info given turns out to be true.
Now when it comes down to the games handling and physics of the ballistics and armour penetration, I can only speak from experiance, from what other people have stated and from what the devs have stated. There are no actual table of information on how the game does its calculations.
But its kinda hard to tell what your issue with this guide is. Is it the information given that you are questioning? The operation used? If the game uses the table of Xmm armour shown in the guide?

@nuFF3, both of you. Show me the proof HnG uses anything remotely close to the values you listed. Where is your research coming from?
