Americans improvement pack

Description
Americans Improvement Pack for Rise of Nations

UPDATE 2: I decided to make a mini expansion to this mod, by adding a few new altered textures. These are for Sherman tanks, Greyhound Armoured Cars, Advanced Fighters, and Stealth Bombers, giving all of these units a more American look. Instead of being solely unique to the Americans, they also apply for all nations that use these models.

UPDATE: I have added some new content to this mod in a bit of an expansion pack. First, I have added a few new leaders to the Americans, giving them Presidents Woodrow Wilson, FDR, JFK, Reagan, George W Bush, and Obama alongside their default leaders.

Next, I have added a few unique textures for use by the Americans. Assault Marines, Fighter-Bombers, Jet Fighter-Bombers, and Attack Helicopters have unique American style textures. Due to some unknown issue, I couldn't get the Fighter Bomber texture to work as a uniquely American one, so every country has access to it, doesn't really matter I guess since the AI hardly ever builds carriers in my experience. Jet Fighter Bombers and Attack Helicopters are however distinct from those used by other nations, with the Attack Helicopters using a reworked attackhelicopter-asian file I found in the game that has some extra decals for some American flavour. Assault Marines also have a MARPAT style uniform now.

Hello! Kaiser_Mobius here with another mod for Rise of Nations Extended Edition.

This time I am happy to present my latest project, which is something of a departure in comparison to the previous mods I have released. Instead of adding an entirely new nation, I have decided to modify an already existing one, choosing the Americans for what I like to call the Americans Improvement Pack.

This is a pretty simple mod that adds a few new unique units to the Americans in Rise of Nations. First is the Union Cavalry in the enlightenment age, based on the stats for the Lakota Repeating Rifle Horse and using a simple retextured skin of the Asian carabineer, to give the Americans some nice 19th century flavour. It also has a unique unit icon, based on a random picture of some US cavalry I found on the internet.

Next is the White Fleet Dreadnought, replacing the default Dreadnought with a uniquely coloured one based on the ships of the US navy that sailed around the globe between 1907 and 1909 under the orders of President Theodore Roosevelt. While I feel it turned out rather well, I was unable to find a way to make the turrets of the ship animate correctly when attacking, they are instead stuck facing forwards. Instead of abandoning this I decided I really wanted to keep it in the game, and have set the ship to fire forwards instead of broadsides so it doesn't look too weird when it is firing. If people do not like this unit, I may delete it and put something else in its place.

In the Information Age, I have enabled the already present Humvee unit to be buildable by the Americans, and have given them a uniquely coloured M1A1 main battle tank, which is just a simple recolour of the already present M1 tank model that is in the game. I may decide to retexture this tank in the future with a more colourful paint scheme, but I feel it turned out pretty well.

In addition, I have retextured the default P-51 mustang fighters that the Americans already get to give them a more vibrant and noticeable look than the much more bland texture that they had before.

Finally, as a bit of a bonus, I have given the Bantu Eagle Fighter a new texture. In the process of creating this mod, I had wanted to give the American's an A-10 ground attack aircraft that could have been built at the airfield. However, the airfield is hard coded to only allow 1 fighter, 1 bomber, and 1 helicopter type to be built, and while the A-10 did work and could be used, they had the wrong icons when parked on an airfield runway and could only be ejected by setting a waypoint for the airfield. I therefore abandoned the idea, but still wanted to put the new texture I had made for the American A-10 into the game, so I kept it and used it for the Bantu's Eagle Fighters. If you want to use it, you just need to play as the Bantu when you have the mod selected.

As with the previous mods I have released, to download all you need to do is click the subscribe button. To use the mod, start a custom skirmish game with the American's as the player nation, then under the Mods drop down menu, select the Americans Improvement Pack. Everything should work as expected.

If you have any constructive criticisms, suggestions, or problems, please feel free to comment, and I will see what I can do to help!

I hope you enjoy playing this mod!

Unfortunately no, not unless I was to replace the base game files instead of putting everything into a separate mods folder.

I have a problem, whenever I start a quick battle, It's like some actions I can't control, like for example, my citizen builds a city even though I didn't order them to. Please help.

And what do you think about combining two, three or four of these mods in just one? One mod consisting of the American improvement pack, the Russian improvement pack for example and any others. What I mean is that it is a pity not to be able to play with all the improvements (or as many as possible) loaded at the same time. If I play a quick battle between the US and Russia I can only update one of those armies by using your mods but not both.

@Pau: I do not believe that would be possible unfortunately. Its for the same reason that you cannot play against each other using different versions of a game. I think if you were to play any of these mods in a LAN everyone would need to be playing with the same mod for it to work.
