What Are Custom Maps?

Custom Maps Are maps that is made by a player and uploaded. why not just call them maps? Its because they are not an offical map from the game Servers tend to have them since 7 maps in this game are not Enough and Could get Boring. Note:Making maps Is Not easy and could take a week or two.

Where Can i Download Custom Maps?

You Can download Custom maps From GameBanana In This Link [dmc.gamebanana.com]
All maps are Free. (these Maps Can be installed on servers Yes i am talking to you server hosts)
Map files are in .BSP file in order to install the map You need to Put the Map's .bsp file in Your 'maps' folder Which is Located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Half-Life\dmc\maps For users
And for Server hosts it is Located at: ~Server Folder:\dmc\Maps


Right now there is a small ammount of Custom maps but
Don't worry, more maps would Come out soon.

Do i have to Download the Server's Map to join?

As in, no. When you join a server With a Custom Map The map will Automaticly Be downloaded to your Game But the map wont be in your game 'Maps' folder. It is saved in to a location where the game Can use the map again when joining a server with that same custom map. Meaning you don't have to download it when you join all the time.

Where Can i make Custom Maps?

Note:Making maps in GoldSrc and In Source is Very Faustrating And does require a lot of patience and work you Cannot make maps by your own your going to have to use Tutorials.

Incase you are a a map maker. you might be thinking you Can just Use Valve Hammer world Editor right? Well you are Wrong. Downloading Hammer would give you a newer Version. which does not work with Any half life 1 game. in order to get the Old Hammer (3.5.2) That works With Half life 1 games You need to download it from This Link [www.flat2d.com] To download Hammer 3.5.2 Select: "Download : Valve_Hammer_Editor_3.5.2_Setup.exe" in the Link [www.flat2d.com]

Note:Your Going to need to watch a lot of tutorials in youtube to Know How to Make a Map the way You would want. Making a map is Not easy its very hard and it takes a lot of time.

Where Can I Publish My Maps?

Well thats an easy question honestly. you do remember that GameBanana Link right?

You Need to make a GameBanana Account To Publish maps There.
Note: In GameBanana You can upload more than just Maps,You can upload Skins,Models,sounds, etc For A lot of games. it is One of the World's Best Game Modding Sites Out there.

in order to publish your Map in this Site. the map (the .BSP File) Must be in a .zip or .rar file (Archive File) (Winrar/Winzip To make .zip .rar files) And Must Have a Readme File For installation Instructions (These are Not my Rules, only their's Please note that) Then you also need to Fill out the other stuff in the Upload page. Also Note that You can Update this Map in the Site By Changing the Version Number in the map's setting and Then changing the Download.

And there you have it. you Uploaded a DMC map in to GameBanana so Everyone Can Download.
