Undertale Characters

Hello, in this guide I will tell you stuff from Undertale Characters from the Pacifist to the Genocide route ...

Note: This is my first guide so please don't judge too hard and if you don't agree with something, just write it in the comments bellow. And I am also going to give you a BIG SPOILER ALERT!!! If you have not played Undertale then go play it yourself because this guide will be full of MAJOR SPOILERS! Maybe if you are not sure about something, just look up this guide!

Toriel - Defender Of The Ruins

You will meet her in the RUINS after you have met Flowey.

[Quick explaination of RUINS: It is the place where you fall down and where the other fallen human(s) fell (Part of the Underground).]

So you meet Toriel in the fight against Flowey (it isn't really a fight). She wants to have you as a child (at least that is what I think) and remember that your character wants to go home and exit the RUINS. You need to ask Toriel if she knows how to exit the RUINS. Of course she doesn't tell you how to exit because she doesn't want to let you out in the 'dangerous' part of the Underground. But when you try to exit she talks and talks until you reach a gate and the fight begins. (Really important message): DO NOT KILL HER unless you are doing the Genocide route... but I don't recomend playing it first. Just spare her! Then you exit the RUINS and continue your route in the Underground. (This is how she looks like)

Sans - Skeleton Pun Maker

After you have met Toriel you'll meet Sans the skeleton.

He is kind of a 'Pun Maker'. So he takes shortcuts and stuff and he is mysterious... In the Genocide route he is a beast. He tells you that he is a good friend with Toriel because they told each other Knock-knock jokes. If Toriel wouldn't be in the game then you would die on the spot because she told Sans that if any human comes through the Gate from the RUINS to the Underground then he should protect that human. So thanks to Toriel you are not dead. But in the Genocide route you kill Toriel so Sans doesn't even know that Toriel died because it happend in the RUINS. If he knows that she is dead then you would die. But enough of these dying stuff. Back to Sans: He is a pretty cool guy. He has a brother too called Papyrus. Sans is also the hardest boss in the game (Genocide route).

Papyrus - The Royal Guardsman

You meet him after Sans gives you a handshake with a whoopie coushin.

Personally, he is my favorite character in the game. He is cool, funny and of course the way he talks is funny, too. he wants to become the Royal Guardsman. He can't be a Royal Guardsman until he finds a human, or captures him or her. The leader Royal Guardsman is Undyne. She tried training Papyrus but it didn't work, he was too weak and he makes friends too fast. Now that he is not good for the Royal Team, Undyne teaches him cooking. His favorite meal is spagetti, also spagetti is the food that he can make the best. If you go in the Pacifist route then you just have to spare him and after you have done that, you need to invite him to a date. Then you become real friends! (This is how he looks like)

Undyne - True Heroin

You meet her after you spared or killed Papyrus.

She is the kind of a girl that really wants you to die or at least get your soul to break the BARRIER.

[Quick explaination: The BARRIER is the thing that holds back the monsters from the outside world.]

Undyne hates you actually through the intire game. She is really hard to beat in the Genocide route because she becomes 'Undyne The Undying'. Yeah, a really great name for a person who you have to fight. The fight takes for a normal Undertale gamer for an hour. Well at least that happend to me...
In the Pacifist route you have to wait until your heart is red and not green and then you need to flee until you reach the Hotlands. She also has a good relationship with Alphys.

(Quick explaination: The Hotlands is the place where you are near to the Core)

Alphys - Huge Anime Fan

You will find Alphys in the Hotlands after you have 'defeated' Undyne.

She likes anime but she spoilers too much. You don't get to fight her but Mettaton. She uses her phone a lot and annoyes you through the Gameplay in Hotland. She has some secrets that you can see or explore in the True Pacifist route/ending. She was acctually a part of a experiment where they investigated DETERMINATION.

[Quick explaination: Determination is the thing that humans have. With that power you can load your last save....emm...right?]

Alphys, activates all of the traps in Hotland so she can be part of your little adventure. (Kinda mean) but acctually not. She just wants to have a friend. (So sad)
In the Genocide route you cannot see her because she evacuates the whole Underground.
(And also a quick note: She has a crush on Undyne...)

Mettaton (EX/NEO) - Huge Star In The Underground

You meet Mettaton in Alphys's lab, then in other parts of Hotland and the Core.

Mettaton is according to my Gameplay a male. He is a half robot half human. He was put into a beautifull robot costume/suit and became the star of the Underground because he sing and dances and gets a lot of views. At first Alphys tells you that Mettaton was created for executing humans. So in Alphys's lab he makes a quiz show where he asks really hard questions and if you answer wrong you die but Alphys is in the corner and tells you the answers. Then you meet him (Mettaton) in a cooking show where you have to fly with your jetpack in your phone up a really high 'table' and get the can of something. After that you meet him again and this time in a news show. You find things and you need to describe them. At the end you choose what to describe and it turns out that all of the things you have seen in that room were bombs. So you defuse them. We are getting closer but there is one more part where Mettaton comes in and sings a song about how beautiful this world is or something and you have to go through a maze of somekind but Alphys breaks into the 'Fire Wall' and stops the whole thing.
Mettaton acctually hires the whole Underground to kill you.

But finally you get to spare him or something like that (dance), see his original form or kill him. In the Pacifist route you can see his original form as a human. You just have to get points with dancing or posing.

In the Genocide route he forgets that his defense is low and gets killed in one shot. (Noob mettaton) (This is how he looks like in the Genocide route(Mettaton NEO)

Asgore - King Of The Underground

You meet him after you have defeated or danced with Mettaton. In the Genocide route you need to fight Sans first.

He is the husband of Toriel. But she left Asgore because he started to collect human souls to 'open' (crack) the Barrier. So as the title says, Asgore is the king of the Underground. When monsters say his name, then it appears in red and in big letters. Like that: ASGORE (but just in red). The fight is hard for the Pacifist route because this is the only one time where YOU HAVE TO FIGHT HIM. In the Genocide route you cannot fight him because Flowey comes and destroys him. That is how Flowey wants to show you that he isn't weak.. He acctually doesn't want to kill you.

Flowey (Omega/Normal) - The Evil Flower

You can meet Flowey in the beggining of the game. Then twice (secretly) in the Gameplay and at the end after you have defeated Asgore.

Flowey can speak once through the Gameplay (Genocide route): "It a wonderfull idea." , because he agrees that you want to kill everyone. Flowey is acctualy Asriel..

(Alert, don't read this if don't want the biggest spoiler in the world.)Well now comes how he became a Flower: Once upon a time a human fell down the RUINS (you name that human at the beggining) and Asriel (Flowey) finds him. They became good friends but one day the human got sick and died. Asriel took the human soul and got through the Barrier, brought the human back to it's village and put it on his favourite flowers. Then the humans saw that a monster (Asriel) killed the human. It wasn't Asriel but the sickniss that killed it. So the humans started to attack Asriel. He got back to the RUINS but very injured. He fell on a pile of Flowers and his soul emerged with the Flower and bacame Flowey.













So let's get to the fight: In the Pacifist route you get to fight him in the form of Omega Flowey.
He becomes really powerfull and destroys the whole game. You can not go back to the RUINS, Hotland... So you need to defeat him while the souls, that he has, try to help you. At the end you spare him and goes away. In the Genocide route he destroys Asgore and after that you smash him instantly.

Asriel - The Most Powerful Monster

So you meet him after you have loaded a file before Omega Flowey (Pacifist route). When he comes, the True Pacifist route will begin.

Asriel is acctually Flowey but just in his normal form. When he was a child, he had a fallen human as a friend but the...(just look at 'Flowey' section in this guide for the story). So he thinks that you are that fallen human but you're not. You are Frisk . (The character you play as) So in the fight vs Asriel you can see that he becomes his true form because he got all of the souls form the monsters in the Underground. In the battle you need to save your friends (Papyrus, Sans, Toriel, Asgore, Alphys and Undyne) and then you save Asriel too. He becomes small again and breaks the Barrier. After that he leaves and you and your friends can leave the Underground (True Pacifist route). Just remember that Asriel as mistaken that you aren't the fallen human who you name in the beginning.

Monster Kid - Biggest Fan Of Undyne

You meet him in Waterfall. And i assume he is kinda a character that i need to talk about in this guide.

Undyne tells him through Waterfall that he should leave you because you are dangerous. But only in the Genocide route. He is the kind of a kid that really likes Undyne. He 'breaks the rules' by going with you all the time in Waterfall. In the Pacifist route you come to a bridge where you meet him. Undyne comes and the kid tries to run away but he falls and you help him up. Then Undyne goes away. In the Genocide route he comes in your way and you attack, of course. But then Undyne comes and gets hit and the battle of Undyne the Undying beginns.

So Sorry - He is always sorry

So Sorry is found in Hotland. If you go to the room where the Stained Apron is and go north, you'll find an invisible path to the Art Club Room.

He is an easteregg and you can only find him, if it is October 10th 8PM. (You can do that by changing the clock on your computer.) And first you need to go to MMT Resort (so the hotel in Hotland). He is always sorry about stuff. First he tries to find something by turning around and his tail 'wiggles'. Then he tries to find something, again, under some paper. After that he draws two little 'Doodlebags' that you have to 'fight'. I have also found out that if you die, he changes his hat. And the most important thing is, that he doesn't want to hurt you and he is sorry, SO SORRY.

Glyde - The Refuser

Glyde is found in Snowdin in the "Door" Room.

After walking in the room you encounter Glyde. It is shown to be very pretentious and rude, doing anything to get the protagonist's attention and even getting jealous of itself at times. It refuses to give more details about its statistics.

Napstablook - The DJ

Napstablook is found in the RUINS and later you can go into his house.

He is a ghost that blames himself every single moment. He has a computer where he has a 'Music Sharing Forum'. You can go into his house and hear the music that he made or lie on the ground.
(That is acctually all of the information that i know about him) (If you don't agree then just use Google)

Mad Dummy - Rage Quit

It can be found in the Junkyard in Waterfall.

The Mad Dummy is angry all the time. It is known as a ghost that possessed a dummy. In the beggining where Toriel tries to teach you that in this world you don't have to fight, you encounter a dummy, yeah just a normal one. So the Mad Dummy tells you that you hurt its friend. In the Junkyard you see it but it is not moving. Then it becomes angry and the fight beginns. It hired other possessed dummies to kill you in the battle. While you trie to spare it, the other dummies shoot at you but if they miss, their bullets will hit the Mad Dummy. After that it hires new dummies (Robo-Dummies) that shoot rockets at you. If those rockets miss and hit The Mad Dummy, then every dummy gets fired. At the end Napsablook comes and cries Acid Rain so the Mad Dummy goes away.
If you play the Genocide route, then it becomes too angry and transforms into much happier version. (Napstablook, Mad Dummy and other ghosts have the same theme.)

Muffet - Bake Salary

You will meet Muffet in Hotland on your way to the Core.

She is a spider...and likes to sell stuff really expensive. When you get into her 'lair', she'll start talking about humans. She says that humans like to kill, tear and step on spider. But in the Underground Frisk doesn't. Mettaton goes to Muffet before you and explains her that humans are bad. If you buy something in the Bake Salary in the RUINS then a small spiders will tell Mufffet that you have already bought something. After that she will stop attacking and lets you go.

Temmie - hOI!!!!! i'm tEMMIE!!!!

You can find Temmie(s) in Waterfall.

Temmies always speak weird. I mean it is funny but .. come on ... everyone knows the Temmie(s)
because this is the character that has the most artworks on the Internet...
I assume that I can not tell you any new information about it. Or can I? So when you find Temmie village there is this Temmie that wants to go to college. If you pay it then it can craft a special armor that comes really handy. You can farm money by finding Dog Residue and equiping it. After you have done that you can sell all of the stuff for Temmie (at least you have to keep one Dog Residue.) (I hope this helped)

Dog Kinds - Woof!

You meet these dog kinds all over Snowdin. Note: All of the dogs that you come across, you have to pet in the Pacifist route.

Lesser Dog

This dog appears to be some kind of a warrior. If you pet it too much, then its neck will become longer and longer and longer and longer until it reaches both sides of your screen.

Greater Dog

When you meet this dog it seems like it is a snow puff. But it's not. It becomes big and strong. He also looks like a warrior, too. From the outside it looks like a beast but from the inside it is like a cute little dog that just wants to get pet.

Doggo

This dog is like a guard, like all the other dogs. If you come across him then he will start talking about: "Did anything move?" or "Is anyone there?" So yeah, and his attacks are pretty easy because you don't have to move.

Dogamy and Dogaressa

These dogs are absollutley in love. I mean just look at them. They are just kissing each other the whole time. And they love puppies. When you come across them, you have to roll around the dirt and make yourself look like a puppy.

Annoying Dog

This dog represents Toby Fox (The creator of Undertale). I don't know why but it does...
So this dog annoyes you through the game. Once it steals an orb. Then it annoyes Papyrus by stealing his special attack.

Amalgamates - Molten Creatures

You can find the Amalgamates in the True Lab after the Pacifist route.

The Amalgamates are creatures that have been created by the so called scientist Gaster or Alyphs. At this experiment the scientists tried to create DETERMINATION. But it didn't work. So different monsters have molten together and became Amalgamates. This experiment went wrong so the scientists didn't want to tell it anybody in the Underground.

Chara - A Devil

You will meet it at the end of the Genocide route.

So at the end of the Genocide route it explains that every LOVE (Level Of Violence), every EXP (Execution Points) that you have earned has brought Chara to realize its 'true purpose'. And the presence of your SOUL and DETERMINATION brought her back to life. At the end it destroys the whole game. And in that I mean that it kills you, too. Thats really mean and EVIL.

Update - "My opinion about Undertale in 2017"

I think I am not going to update this guide any more.
After a long time playing Undertale the game has become a little boring to me. I mean there was a point where I knew which dialogue was coming when I was playing. And at the genocide route, I didn't want to sit there for hours trying to defeat Sans and Undyne all over agian. Undyne was actually pretty easy at the end. And the Undertale fandom has just become really cringey (is that how you spell it?) because of those comic dubs and cosplays and everything.

Undertale was a good game, I even still recommend playing it. But the community shouldn't have taken it this far.
