1905 Battleship Potemkin

Arguably the most 'revolutionary' pre-dreadnought battleship of the 1900s, Potemkin's 1905 mutiny is also the subject of one of the greatest silent films of all time.


Leading an unremarkable career in the Russian Navy after the vessel was recovered from Romania, Potemkin nonetheless is an interestingly laid out pre-dreadnought battleship that was very entertaining to build to 1:1 scale with hard-to-find period illustrations standing in for actual plans and blueprints.

As with my previously released designs, Potemkin has a fully detailed interior that is based off generic naval technology and design trends of the time; propulsion spaces are modelled after boilers and connected steam engines, internal compartmentalization , protected decks and armor belts mirrored after actual pre-dreadnought defensive schemes, cramped secondary gun decks, crew quarters and some homage to the actual historical ship itself.

Armaments are very similar to the actual ship:

Grp 1: 4x305mm (12")
Grp 2: 16x152mm (6") secondary guns, 12x 75mm tiertiary guns
Grp 3: 9x47mm close in guns in superstructure
Grp 4: 5x underwater torpedo tubes; 2 per broadside, 1 bow
