This “guide” is actually a list of builds I came up with when I planned my main pawn. One is enough for me, so I reckon I might just share them with everyone.

Builds here are “balanced” to a certain degree (of paranoia), and most people will say it doesn’t worth the hassle to level your character like that. But if you are someone like me, who craves unique stats numbers, please read on.

All builds are calculated based on a weight class of M.
Basic Balanced Builds
Handsome Jack of All Trades
HP 4000 ST 3700
Attack 500 Magick 500
Defense 400 Magick Defense 400
Stat Planner[stackoverflow.github.io]

Now with the basic balanced build, you can sway either side:

All-Rounder (Attack)
HP 4000 ST 3800
Attack 600 Magick 450
Defense 380 Magick Defense 350
Stat Planner[stackoverflow.github.io]

All-Rounder (Magick)
HP 4600 ST 3000
Attack 500 Magick 600
Defense 350 Magick Defense 350
Stat Planner[stackoverflow.github.io]

Or both:

The Best Defense is a Good Offense
HP 4000 ST 3800
Attack 540 Magick 540
Defense 350 Magick Defense 350
Stat Planner[stackoverflow.github.io]

The following build is meant for support mage pawn. When combined with Legion’s Might, only Death’s scythe, Brine, and Daimon’s toilet flushing can kill your pawn.

Mage Tank
HP 3800 ST 2700
Attack 390 Magick 530
Defense 500 Magick Defense 500

Closing Words
You can beat the game with any stats, so why not beat it with a set of stats you want?

I only wish to provide some (impractical) build ideas for everyone to work on, and please share your builds with us!

(Well, hopefully CAPCOM will offer us an attributes point system in Dragon's Dogma 2, or at least a reset mechanism.)

im always switching vocations depending on what i feel like playing, so i always go for balanced builds. im glad im not the only one.

usually i max using Ranger, getting a good offense-focused balance since i prefer tactics and skill over pure stat power and sponginess.

but for my pawn im conflicted. i want to run a pure support/debilitate build and there are a lot of ways to go about that since matk isnt as important.

in any case, thanks for helping give me ideas.

The point of matching pawn's Attack and MAttack is to make him/her able to switch between melee and caster roles without hindering much power.

If you decided that your pawn won’t need Attack ever, then I’d say go for the All-Rounder (Magick) route.

I need guidance for my Sorcerer pawn. She currently is a glass cannon with little physical defense but I can't justify raising her attack stat to match her magick attack stat like in most the examples listed. All-Rounder (Magick) or Mage Tank are my two best choises from the list but is that the best fit for my Sorcerer pawn?
I'm paranoid like that.
I'm restarting a new game with new characters btw.:dragonemblem:

Dan,
Both of your links are blank, but I guess you went the high-atk-low-matk route.

Let me put it this way, there are Ghosts that are immune to pure atk based attacks and also Metal Golem discs that are immune to pure matk based spells/attacks. So if you intend to play as an atk only Arisen, best to have a mage pawn with holy boon or get a magic weapon.

A reminder, for basic attacks, 1 base atk ≈ 1 damage so long as you break the target’s “physical” damage threshold.

http://stackoverflow.github.io/dragons-dogma-stat-planner/ < this is so tempting that I might actually commit to it, is it viable to be an only physical main for that blitterblack thing?

http://stackoverflow.github.io/dragons-dogma-stat-planner/ Something like this would be ok? Or I could go 820 Atk on my main and go physical and make my pawn have high magical atk and be a sorc, then just recruit a good Mage for support from online :)

I've finally sort of figured out this stat training thing and I've restarted my game and I have also gone for Strider main, Strider Pawn (So I can also switch my pawn to fit the situations later on with balanced Atk stats.

However I'm wanting to do more of a glass cannon type of playthrough since I'm quite good at not getting hit all that much I used to play alot of dark souls and Monster Hunter and I'm just curious to see how fast and how much damage I could actually output with high atk stats.

KuroiSeigi,
Stat growth is determined by Vocation, so if you want to have a “balanced” build which is able to switch to other Vocation without hindering its potency, you need to change Vocation during the 190 levels.

For example, Strider @ Lv1-10 > Assassin @ Lv10-200. Your character’s final stats will end up with Attach at 937 and Magick at 277, you will have no choice but playing it as a melee character.

If you still want to have a “balanced” build but do not want to switch too often, then I suggest you start to play Assassin @ Lv17-95 > Sorcerer Lv 96-200, like this (assuming you are still a level 16 Strider):
https://stackoverflow.github.io/dragons-dogma-stat-planner/#as000600000005004f00000000000064000000

And for your main pawn, you can still manage a “balanced” build by Warrior @ Lv17-110 > Sorcerer Lv 111-200.
https://stackoverflow.github.io/dragons-dogma-stat-planner/#as0006005400000000000000000a005a000000

Not ideal, but they shall serve their purposes.

Hi, saw your comment on one of the posts in the Vocation section, and was wondering if you could give me some advice. I'm new to the game, and am currently a Lvl16 Strider (liked the balance and playstyle of the class). I kinda messed up and my pawn is a Strider as well. I've looked at some of the guides, and all of them recommended that I switch classes every now and then in order to maximise the stats. However, that isn't really very appealing to me, as I prefer not to have one playstyle for one character. I'm aware that Assassin uses bow and daggers as well, so I wouldn't mind switching to that class. Would my method be too detrimental to the growth of my character? Or is there another alternative?
