By Daniel 🥶 疼
This guide will teach you how to apply a nametag to the C4, similar to a weapon.

Getting the C4 in the Inventory
So, you might be wondering at this point how you could possibly rename the C4 since it is not even in the inventory, and thus not able to be renamed. This can be easily fixed, and only takes a few minutes. Here are the Steps:

1. Go to your local disk (C:)
2. Go to program files, or programs files (x86)
3. Go to Steam
4. Go to SteamApps
5. Go to Common
6. Go to CounterStrike: Global Offensive
7. From here, use the search bar to look for "items_game.txt"

I feel like that was easy to follow along with. So heres the next set of steps.

8. Open "items_game.txt"
9. Press "Ctrl + F" (This allows you to search for a specific word)
10. Search for C4, using "Ctrl + F" until you find this.

11. Now, simply replace the "c4" on the "item_slot" line so that it says "melee"

Simple enough right? Close the file, and go in game, and the C4 will be in your inventory.

NOTE: With the items_game.txt file edited like this, you will not be able to join "Pure" servers. So after you go in game and get the C4 to show up in your inventory, exit the game and undo Step 11. This will simply reverse what you did, making the "melee" be "c4" again, still letting you keep the C4 in your inventory and also allowing you access to "Pure" servers again.

*Make sure you use a lowercase "c" on the "c4" or this will not revert the change you made.
Rename the C4
This is the final step!

Either buy a nametag yourself for 2$ or beg for one and hope a kind friend gives it to you.

Slap a clever name on the C4, and freak out your friends in a comp game :)
Something to note about this - you can now also feature the C4 on an item showcase on your steam profile, if you are steam level 10 or above.

Well guys, thats about it. I just thought I would share as this is a very cool little feature, and is in no way harmful to the game or community, something I will always be against.

If I am contacted or told by anyone (that actually knows - Lookin at you trolls in the comments) That this is against the Steam TOS or some unwritten (or written) rule in CS:GO I never knew about, it will be taken down immediately and i will remove the nametag from my own C4.

That's it. Enjoy the named C4 until it either gets put into the game as a real feature or removed.

Dont forget to leave a thumbs up if you enjoyed, and share it with your CS friends :D

NOTE: You have to RENAME the bomb before undoing the change to the items_game.txt file or else the bomb will not stay in your inventory! I was getting a lot of questions about this, so i hope that clarified things :D

[MOD]\scripts/items\items_games.txt does not match files
so does that mean you have to name it then put it back to c4?

There's anyway to remove the C4 from the Inv and add it again?
To replace it in somewhere you want to organize your Inv.

If the c4 is set to melee still, you can't access pure servers. Once you set it back to c4, you can go into pure servers/comp servers. :squirtyay:

Earlier in the guide you wrote that this will not work in pure severs.

later on mentioned using it in a comp game, is it possible to use this in a comp game?

great guide.
