Kepler-438b

Description
This world closely orbits the small red dwarf Kepler-438 so closely that it is tidally locked, meaning that one pole faces the sun while the other is forever locked in darkness. The sun facing side of the planet is habitable while the unreachable dark side is completely covered in ice. The strong tides keep the ocean forever bulged out at the poles, but again only the sun-facing ocean is accessible, the far ocean is forever trapped under miles of ice.

This polar projection map (requires Rising Tide) allows colonization of the sunward facing side of the planet.

-- Suggested Usage --
After the mod selection screen downloads the mod, exit Civ BE, go to the mod directory ("My Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization Beyond Earth\MODS\Sun Facing Pole Map") and copy the file Sun_Facing_Pole.lua" to the user Maps directory ("My Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization Beyond Earth\Maps"). Restart the game and go into the mod selection screen and make sure the mod is NOT selected, as that would result in the map script being listed twice.

This allows you to use the map script with or without mods, which is great if you just want to try a new map without going through the whole "loading mods" business.

Thankyou for the mod. I was wondering don't Red dwarf stars flare occasionally?... ouch..:)

FYI: small size map crashes (on Mac) but standard size is fine.

I found a workaround!

Copy the .lua from your MODS folder into ~/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Sid Meier's Civilization Beyond\Earth/Civilization Beyond Earth.app/Contents/GameData/assets/Maps/ :steamhappy:

Sorry, blkbutterfly74, as far as I can tell, ALL custom map scripts crash on BERT for the Mac. Back in December I took out the Mac Mini and I tested a couple of maps from other people (not just my own) and they all crash. Hopefully Aspyr will fix this at some point. :(
