Introduction
Hello I am Boogyboy.
In this guide i will explain all 14 weapons in the game, and their function.

What to expect in this guide-
  • Weapon appearences.
  • Weapon information and functions.
Knife

First Acquired: Hub Ruins (Available at start)

Damage: Moderate

Range: Short

Ammo Capacity: It's a knife dummy

Weapon Info-
The Knife is the starting weapon of the game, along with the tek bow.
It doesn't require ammo or anything like that so it's good to use commonly at the start.
It does a nice ammount of damage for low grade enemies like the Giant Beetle or the Poachers.
It also does slightly higher damage when attacking an enemys back.
When you kill an enemy they have a chance to drop a Mortal Wound.
When you collect a Mortal Wound it gives you full health and permanently increases your max health capacity by 5. (maxing out at 120)
This is one of two weapons that have a chance to drop a Mortal Wound on kill. (the other being the Bow)
I wouldn't recommend using it unless your out of ammo, or are surrounded by a certain type of enemy.
Tek Bow

First Acquired: Hub Ruins (Available at start)

Damage: Moderate

Range: Long

Ammo Capacity: 30

Special Ammo Capacity: 15

Weapon Info-
The Tek Bow is the second weapon you're given at the start of the game.
It fires normal arrows based on how much you pull the bow back.
The longer you pull the bow back the more damage it does.
Pull back the arrow until you see a white sparkle on the tip-
When you fire it then, the arrow will do more damage.
This is another one of two weapons that have a chance to drop a Mortal Wound on kill. (the other being the Knife)
It can also hold tek arrows as a secondary ammo.
Tek arrows explode on contact and do more open damage.

Ammo Used-
Pistol

First Acquired: Hub Ruins

Damage: Minor

Range: Average

Ammo Capacity: 100

Weapon Info-
The Pistol is one of the first weapons you find in-game.
It does slightly less damage then the Knife and Tek Bow unless you fire quickly.
The Pistol shares ammo with the Assault Rifle.
Since it has a decent amount of ammo it's a good weapon to use when you're low on everything else.
Wouldn't recommend for later levels in the game.

Ammo Used-
Shotgun

First Acquired: Hub Ruins

Damage: High

Range: Short-Long

Ammo Capacity: 20

Special Ammo Capacity: 10

Weapon Info-
The Shotgun is a very useful weapon for the beggining levels of the game.
Despite being a Shotgun, it's range is quite long if you know where you're aiming.
If aimed right, it can insta kill most low grade enemys.
It can hold explosive shells as a secondary ammo.
Similar to the Tek Bow, the explosive shells explode on contact doing more open damage.
Very useful when shot while enemys are bunched together.

Ammo Used-
Auto Shotgun

First Acquired: Hub Ruins

Damage: High

Range: Short-Long

Ammo Capacity: 20

Special Ammo Capacity: 10

Weapon Info-
The Auto Shotgun is a direct upgrade from the Shotgun.
It fires faster than the normal shotgun making it the best in close range and speedruns.
Similar to the Shotgun, it's range is pretty high with good accuracy.
It's one of the best weapons to use in any chapter in the game because of its damage and fire rate.
Same as the normal shotgun, it can carry explosive bullets.

Ammo Used-
Assault Rifle

First Acquired: Hub Ruins

Damage: Moderate

Range: Long

Ammo Capacity: 100

Weapon Info-
The Assault Rifle is a weapon best used in short and long range.
The Assault Rifle shares ammo with the Pistol.
It has a big max capacity for ammo so it's pretty useful for early levels until you acquire the Minigun.
Every shot fires 3 burst rounds.
Good for crowd control.

Ammo Used-
Pulse Rifle

First Acquired: The Ancient City

Damage: Moderate

Range: Long

Ammo Capacity: 100

Weapon Info-
The Pulse Rifle is a weapon you acquire later in the game.
It fires automatic pulse rounds that to a good amount of damage on contact.
Along with the Auto Shotgun it's very useful to use when moving fast.
The Pulse Rifle shares ammo with the Alien Weapon, and the Particle Accelerator.
It can drain ammo a bit quicker than other weapons because of its fire rate, so try to save ammo for tougher enemys.

Ammo Used-
Minigun

First Acquired: The Jungle

Damage: High

Range: Average

Ammo Capacity: 500

Weapon Info-
The Minigun is one of the more powerful weapons in the game.
It fires faster than any other weapon in the game.
Every shot uses 4 ammo resulting in 125 fireable shots in total.
If you have the choice to pick between the Minigun and the Assult Rifle, pick the Minigun.
It's best used against bigger enemys and bosses.
Also good to use in large crowds of smaller enemys.

Ammo Used-
Grenade Launcher

First Acquired: The Ruins

Damage: High

Range: Moderate

Ammo Capacity: 20

Weapon Info-
The Grenade Launcher is one of the first explosive weapons aquired in the game.
It fires a single grenade that bounces for 2 seconds until it eventually explodes.
If someone is shot directly the grenade will explode on contact dealing huge damage.
This is another weapon i'd highly recommend for bosses and high grade enemys.

Ammo Used-
Alien Weapon

First Acquired: Treetop Village

Damage: Moderate

Range: Long

Ammo Capacity: 100

Weapon Info-
The Alien Weapon is another decent explosive weapon acquirable further into the game.
It fires a straight beam shot that travels really fast and explodes on impact.
It uses 5 ammo per shot adding up to 20 fireable shots in total.
The Alien Weapon shares ammo with the Pulse Rifle, and the Particle Accelerator.
I wouldn't recommend it as a go-to weapon to use because of it's slightly low damage against stronger enemies and bosses.

Ammo Used-
Quad Rocket Launcher

First Acquired: Treetop Village

Damage: High

Range: Average

Ammo Capacity: 24

Weapon Info-
The Quad Rocket Launcher is another very powerful explosive weapon in the game.
It fires 4 rockets per shot adding up to 6 fireable shots in total.
Each rocket that is shot can deal it's own indiependant damage.
If you shoot and hit an enemy with one of the four rockets and the three others continue, then the three others will continue to deal contact to anything they hit.

Ammo Used-
Particle Accelerator

First Acquired: The Catacombs

Damage: May Vary

Range: Average

Ammo Capacity: 100

Weapon Info-
The Particle Accelerator is one of the first weapons in the game that requires you to charge shots.
The shots of this gun does have some blast radius, one shot if fired right can affect multiple enemys.
The Particle Accelerator shares ammo with the Pulse Rifle, and the Alien Weapon.
Its damage system is based on how long you hold down a charge.
The more you click and hold down a charge the higher the damage of the shot.
The higher the charge also determines how much ammo it uses up.
The lowest charge uses 2 ammo.
The highest charge uses 10 ammo.

Ammo Used-
Fusion Cannon

First Acquired: The Lost Land

Damage: Massive

Range: Long

Ammo Capacity: 2

Weapon Info-
The Fusion Cannon is one of two nucular type weapons in the game.
It fires a single slow shot that travels in mid air until coming in contact with an enemy or wall.
Once it comes in contact with something physical it explodes and deals huge damage to a large amount of the surrounding area.
It's best that when fired, you back up a few feet to avoid damage.

Ammo Used-
Chronoscepter

First Acquired: Through Chronoscepter Pieces

Damage: Massive

Range: Short

Ammo Capacity: 3

Weapon Info-
The Chronoscepter is the last weapon you get before fighting the Campaigner.
Instead of naturally finding this weapon, it must be constructed from eight peices you find throughout all eight chapters.
It charges a shot that quickly fires a straight beam that explodes on impact with any enemy or surface.
It's explosion is very similar to the fusion cores weapon explosion.
If you're too close it will deal damage to you.
It's the only weapon that cannot be used outside of the final battle unless through the use of cheats.

I agree with Richard. The alien weapon is useless. Im actually starting to think its bugged and not just under powerd

I came here wondering with the Alien Gun does since it took 100 bullets on two big dudes and only killed one of them, but nope, turns out it's just useless.

Pretty cool guide. One thing i notice, and correct me if I'm wrong, but the fusion canon doesn't explode on contact. It travels for about 2 seconds, then explodes, regardless of what it hits. You can shoot a wall and it just stays there for 2 seconds then explode. Not a big deal, but i just felt the need to point that out. Good job with the guide.

Good overview.

Quick note that the game does refer the Particle Accelerator (which is what the instruction manual and surrounding documentation call it) as the Shockwave Cannon. Unless, however, the game got updated to change that (I haven't played this in some time.)

Just to note - there is now an ammo switching mod:

Nope, there is no ammo switching.

On this new PC version is there a way to switch between ammo types? For example.... Can I switch between regular and explosive ammo types? I can't seem to find a key bind for that, but maybe im not looking hard enough :duranceleft::duranceright:. Thanks anyone. :D

It would have been nice if you explained how the special ammunition work.

The knife actually has a decent range on it for a melee weapon, and it also has a "cleave" effect which allows you to hit multiple enemies in front of you (there's even an achievement for it!).
