A guide to staring down librarians in Metro 2033.

Getting Right down to It.

Lets just get right to it, First things first, you'll need to get to the library obviously, then all you have to do is look that creepy guy right in the eyes until he flinches.

Pictured below is a screenshot of the actual staredown. Keep in mind that this is an actual game mechanic and staring until they go away DOES work unless you attack them or turn your back on them, if you look away they will immediately aggro and try to murderate you.




After a few seconds they'll turn around like so.



And then you're done!

it was hit or miss for me, some would stare me down, most would just try to smash my brains out through my bunghole, and most of them would randomly glitch dance.

You can actually avoid almost every Librarian. There are a few that you can't but if you use stealth and you wait long enough they will go away from where you need to. Once you go down the elevator using stealth really begins to benefit for avoid those things.

If you are on range mode, you can throw a bunch of knives at it to kill without wasting ammo

The molotov tricks is a joke. Don't fall for it.

i have killed 3 in one run with the double shotgun by going behind one of the holes in the ceiling and hiding in the corner, then plugging both shots into the savage's face. it takes ~8 rounds of this so watch your bullets. I have also noticed that they seem to RESPAWN, unless there are like 20 librarians in the first few rooms :/
