AoC Mercenary Crossbowmen

This mod adds recruitable mercenary crossbowmen to the Age of Charlemagne campaign in the Charlemagne, Lombard and Mercian regions. While crossbows weren't popular during this setting, it may have still been around to some extent as a specialist weapon (i.e. for mercenaries).

I've aimed this make this mod as polished as possible and fit seamlessly with other units in the vanilla AoC campaign. A high quality/matching unit card was made. Also added this unit to corresponding factions in custom battles. It's a balanced and fun unit that adds to some tactical depth in battles.

Must start new campaign game to see the recruitable unit. Play tested many times on campaign, there are no bugs. Compatible with most mods (except not with mods that edit 'startpos.esf', i.e. faction unlock mods, which will require compatability tweaks). Please ask for permission if you want to use my unit card.

13/12/2015 Changed the unit card graphic to have a full brown shirt like all other mercenary units.
14/12/2015 Increased the initial number to recruitable mercs from 1 to 2 for all regions. Max limit is 2 at any given time.
