Description
The classic Halo map, Bloodgulch, redone in cs:go. Done as part of my attempts to find a good engine for a game I want to make.

***NEW: ADDED BOMB SITES AND BUY ZONES***

Works best in objective-less modes like deathmatch or arms race simply because of how huge the map is.

Bomb sites are at blue base and a patch of dirt overlooked by the cliffs near red base.

All level geometry is hand-done, including brushwork and displacements. Textures have been modified as needed to support Source's unique texture parameters. All scenery (rocks, trees) ported with Wall Worm Model Tools from Gearbox's level assets for Halo: Custom Edition, with hand-done custom collisions to conform to Source's convex requirements. Some textures are heavily modified from the original, and others are entirely new due to differences in texture tech between halo's Blam engine and Source 2013.

Skybox is a scene rendered in 3ds max from original assets and ported in using Wall Worm Sky Writer.

Feel free to fool around in the map with wireframe, or simply crack the map bsp itself open-- I'm pretty proud of this and it may be hard to see how much went into it from the surface.

A HUGE thank you to Shawn Olson, creator of Wall Worm Model tools-- without which I probably would have given up halfway through making this.

Thanks also to TopHattWaffle for answering any question I had (no matter how bizzare), and to Modacity (irc.gamesurge.net #modacity) for inspiring me to do this in the first place.

we love your map on our server. However, we need to know if it was rendered in LDR or HDR? Please let us know. Thank you.

Hi Itzu!
We have a "deathmatch meets danger zone" mod server that plays your map.
This map rocks competitive play and gliding around using bump mines & parachutes!
We hope you continue to make dynamically detailed maps like this one.
Visit www.slyshotgaming.com to see a Deathmatch Danger Zone mod on your map.

As Church said when he hears Mexican music from the warthog in Red vs Blue.... "For God Sake! What Is That Music?!?!"

Just to clarify..... This happened on the Blood Gulch map in Halo 1, and to this day, that line was funny as all hell!

Hello! I was looking into getting bloodgulch into Blender, and I did have success with the map itself, but not the textures so I was looking through the net for about a week to find a solution, until I found your map on the workshop. I'd probably import this map into blender but because importing a csgo map into it is so f*****g confusing, I'm wondering if you used blender to import the map into csgo, and if so, could you give me those files? Thanks in advance.
