JC3 - "No Audio" Fix

This is a simple fix that can solve the glitch, where there is no sound at all, when you open the game. The only thing you need to do is reinstalling the DirectX file that is located in your JC3 folder.

Guide

1. Locate your Just Cause 3 folder which is usually located here:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Just Cause 3\

2. Now you need to go to _CommonRedist > DirectX > Jun2010:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Just Cause 3\_CommonRedist\DirectX\Jun2010

3. Now you need to scroll down until you find a file called "DXSETUP.exe"

4. Run it and follow the instructions.




















5. When the installation is done, you should be good to go.

This glitch was something that happened to me, like 50% of the time, I started the game and was very annoying. This was a fix that worked for me, but I can't promise that it will work for you too.

Some other things you can try:
- Uninstall all sound drivers through device manager, refresh the list and Windows should install the default sound driver. Reboot and try it again.
-Try to run the game in compatibility mode for windows 7 by finding the .exe file to run the program located in the game folder.

I get sound but when I pause the game sometimes it cuts off and I have to restart the application. This is annoying and frustrating due to the fact that I have to keep restarting from checkpoints and losing progress. I've tried this but it sadly doesn't work. I'm running on Windows 11 Home. I've tried the game on Linux and it does not have this issue but, I have to run the game at a lower resolution to avoid crashing, and has visualization bug where you can't text on the map. So yeah, it's play the game on Linux and not be able to read text, or pay the game on Windows with the audio bug and have it cut out randomly. This is no fun every other game I have on steam there is no sign of this. So I'm wondering if it's a software issue where the game is getting too a state of being to old. As some older titles this does happen in my experience. But I could be wrong.
