Hi there! This guide will show you, how you can skip the long unnecessary intro in Just Cause 3.

1. Open your JC3 directory.

Right-click Just Cause 3.
Choose "Properties".
Change to the "Local Files" tab.
Click "Browse Local Files...".

2. Create a new folder called "dropzone".

3. Create a new folder in "dropzone" called "videos".

4. Create an empty file (e.g. a text file) and rename it to "corona_video.bikc" and put in the "videos" folder.*

*Windows may hide known file extensions preventing you to create a .bikc file.
If you're using Windows 11 and have the new file explorer, click on "View", then "Show" and on "File name extensions".
In the old file explorer, you can press "ALT+V" and then HF.

5. Next you're going to need to add a few commandline arguments to enable the dropzone directory:

You can easily set this through Steam by right-clicking Just Cause 3,
Choose "Properties".
Click "Set Launch Options...".
Paste one of the arguments below into the text box, and click "OK".

If you don't have any DLC installed, add this (make sure you include the "." at the end):
--vfs-fs dropzone --vfs-archive patch_win64 --vfs-archive archives_win64 --vfs-fs .

If you have any DLC installed, add this (make sure you include the "." at the end):
--vfs-fs dropzone --vfs-archive patch_win64 --vfs-archive archives_win64 --vfs-archive dlc_win64 --vfs-fs .

And that's it!
If you have any questions, feel free to ask me in the comments, or add me.

Wow this actually works! Thanks!! I really thought this was a loading screen :) Saves SO much time.

For using it on a non-steam installation, go to the shortcut for launching the game on your desktop -> right-click properties -> in the "Target" field go to the end of the text in that box and press space and paste in one of the two above commandline arguments and click OK.

Wtf, I thought that was just a loading screen, but it's actually an unskippable cutscene? Bro... 😅

Hmm, I just checked, it's working for me. I'm using the Windows 11 file explorer. Make sure to check "File name extensions" in the dropdown when Clicking on "View", then "Show" :)
