This guide will show you how to skip the intro in "Metro 2033 Redux".

-go to Steam/SteamApps/common/Metro 2033 Redux/2033
-click on a black area in the folder and press "L" on your keyboard.
-this will mark a file called "legal.ogv" rename it to "legalfile.ogv" (without the quotation marks).

*Note you can change the name of the file to anything that is not "legal.ogv", "legalfile.ogv" is just an example.
*Note on some graphics cards up until this point you're done with the change, I'd recommend to launch the game first to test if this works properly.

-create another .txt file in the folder by right clicking on a black space hovering above new and selecting "text document" and name it to "legal.ogv (without the quotation marks).

*Note there will be another semi-intro but it can be skipped by pressing "E" on your keyboard.

This one isn't working for me. I'm an experienced modder, and things like this are usually pretty simple to do. But my game just crashes immediately after trying your method and a few tweaks to it.

My dudes! This guide works but the instructions are a little vague. Here is a quick summary:


1) Rename or delete the "legal.ogv" file. (renaming is recommended)

2) Create a new file in the same folder

- Right click > New > Text Document (creates a .txt file)

- Open the .txt file (by default it will be named New Text Document)

- Click File > Save as > File name: legal.ogv > Save as type: All files > Save


The Alt+Tab didn't work for me, so I hope this helps PockX's guide.

@K1ro3's solution still works in 2023 without having to delete any files. Alt+Tab when the game starts and the videos are skipped.

just delete legal.ogv and make the new file as instructed with the same name, extensions enabled and visible

Thanks for trying but this unfortunately does not work . Renaming/deleting legal.ogv and creating a new file with the name may have have worked for the original version but not for the redux. This "fix" is also wrong on the "PC gaming Wiki"

Simply alt+tab out of the game when the intro starts and then alt+tab back to metro and the intro will be skipped
