Introduction
I was talking to one of my friends while playing ARK, I was taming a trike at the time so I told him and then he said to me,

"Trikes are lame".

I thought about this for a solid 5 seconds before saying "yeah, they are kinda lame". But although they are quite plain that doesn't make them a bad tame, in fact, a Trike can be one of the best tames you'll ever get, ESPECIALLY early on.
Whats so good about Trikes?
There are A LOT of good things about them but I am going to list only the 4 BEST things about a Trike

#1. Easy Tame
Trikes are almost as easy to tame as they are to find, they do take a bit to tame but the second you learn the slingshot engram you can tame a Trike, as they are the poster children for getting stuck in trees and other places.

#2. It pays for itself and more!
When you get a saddle for a Trike you can not only feed the Trike very easily (just walk into a cluster of bushes, attack, and you'll know what i mean) but you can also use it to tame other herbivores AND carnivores. (just walk into a cluster of dilos, attack, and you'll know what i mean)

#3. Early Game Body Guard
Now I know some of you are now probably thinking "But what if im not a high enough level for a saddle?" Well even before you can get a saddle it can still fight, and defend your base from weak raiders and hostile creatures.

And last but shure as hell not least, In fact this is probably the best part about the Trike,

#4. KNOCK-BACK
Probably the most important part, knock-back can turn the tables in A LOT in a fight. A Raptor has high attack speed but with a Trike it can't get close enough for long enough to deal a good amount of damage, in fact, there have been multiple times my Trike never took damage in fights because you can time the attacks so that the enemy is always knocked back.
Combat Potential
In this segment I will cover and compare the stats and other abilities of common "war horses". (for the purpose of this guide "War Horses" will refer to something not too hard to tame with good damage and health that is a bit expendable)

I am going to use the Trike, Dire wolf, Saber, Megaloceros male (A.K.A Irish Elk/Elven War Moose), and of course the Phiomia

The Trike's Achilles Heel
If you weren't reading the section above, then let me explain the Trike's semi-fatal flaw.

STAMINA

If you WERE paying attention to the stat comparisons you would have noticed that the Trike was pretty good when it came to 2 of the 3 important combat stats, Health (it was #1), and Damage (it was #2). But in stamina it was last with only 150 compared to a Dire Wolf's 260. (suprisingly the Phiomia was #1 for stamina with 2 TIMES more than the Trike with 300 points)

How to solve it?
Level up stamina,
Battle Strategies
We will now be covering some basic battle strategies with 1 or more Trikes.

To begin,

Lets say both sides have 6 players, for this demonstration the green dot will represent a Trike, the red dot will be a Wolf, the blue and purple dots are either Pachys or Raptors and the yellow and cyan dots are Phiomias.

Starting the fight: Frontal Assault

A basic manuver to begin a fight.

Step 2: Secondary Charge

After a Frontal Charge this is the next best choice of action, but there is another way...

Optional Tactic #1: Flank

Instead of charging forward like a dumbass you send your secondaty troops around to attack the sides of your enemy.

Step 3: The OTHER Charge

With your main soldier, charge straight at the enemy. (you might be able to push right thru them!)

Optional Tactic #2: The Runaround

While your enemy charges headlong into your troops like a dingus, curve around the side and get your enemy from behind, he'll be so busy trying to push thru your troops he probably won't even see you coming!

Counter Manuver #1: The Cincinnati Sidewinder
\
Use this manuver when you go to use The Runaround and you notice the enemy doing the same thing! Instead of running around in a circle like an asshat slide around to face him like a man you wuss!

Battle Field Adjustments
At this point you may be wondering "Why woulden't one team have some Dilos to back them up in the fight?" well here is an image with the orange dots representing the Dilos.

Now when the enemy sees these Dilos they will most likley call in they're Dodo Army (as shown here)

But it is at This Moment when the enemy notices that the Dilos are fully leveled War Dilos and to quickly fortify they're defenses they get other tribe members to quickly tame HUNDREDS OF DODOS, using numbers to compensate for they're lack of training (as shown here)

It is at THIS POINT that a force 5 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ensues (here is a simulation of a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥)

But if you followed this guides instructions to the letter than you and your tribemates will be pushing thru it like
