Thanks for posting that link, it allowed me to quickly see what you are talking about.
The 6 or 8 games I hosted servers for only ever used the same id referring to it as mod id and / or workshop id, they were always the same.
I see what you posted there for Project Zomboid they use a more common name for the mod id.
I have not played that game so I cannot speak as to it's mod setup.
I will add an addendum to my text above (not record a new video) later today to reflect that new information.
This is not really a forum and the only place you can communicate in regards to this guide so no, it's not a necro at all, no problem there.
Also, I didn't notice how old this thread was, so sorry if it's considered a necro.
I have run game servers for many games for many years, the id's have always been the same, from the mod itself and the number aka id in the url on steam.
Of course, there is the possibility that things have changed since I posted this, nothing stays the same on the internet forever.
Can you give me an example of one which is not, if I see proof that it is otherwise I will then correct my documentation.
