Metropolitan Sunken Wall 4 EU

In 1 collection by GCVos
Canal Blocks
22 items
Description
Multi-purpose tapered walls for waterfront promenades, sunken highways and terraced monuments. After Dark docks and piers can be connected to the walkways (manually).

This block comes in two parts. The asset contains a concrete base, treeline and distant LOD.
The prop [MSW4 EU Details] layers large beige bricks on top of the base.
Ingame they blend into each other; not using the prop will make the transitions worse.

This asset boosts land value within a very limited range. I set the maintenance costs quite low so they won't bankrupt you. :D The walls will attract a very low amount of tourists, so you will see a few peeps enjoying the view without creating a ton of traffic.

Asset Info

Service: Park
Cost: 1200
Upkeep: 8/week
Tourism: 1
Entertainment: 120
Range: 100
Cells: 2x1
Actual size: 4x7.5
Jumps power but does not require any.

Model Info

This asset is very low poly. All the details are in the prop.
~ Hardly 500 tris in total with LOD
1024x1024 Diff, Normal and Specular for the bricks
512x512 Diff, Spec and Color for the base

I tried attaching more props and lights but they tend to sink through the model. :(

Placement

For best results build alongside roads on flat terrain and terraform.
I recommend avoiding terrain that's already sloped and flattening it first.

I have tested some of the existing walls and walkways and found the following ones blend together really well:

Really nice work! Since wanted to use different trees, I thought I just unsubscribed from the "Pappeln". however I noticed that now and then after loading up the map, the texture is missing and the naked asset is about a width of a road off location.

Update: Resubsribing to Pappeln does not seem to make a difference. Have you had this before?

Is the tree needed?

Would it be possible to get a treeless version that dosn't require road access?

It would be awesome to make the quay wall look exactly like this.

How about a large version for large straight areas? right now I need to use lots of sections for straitght areas so lots of polys that can be avoided with a 32 and 128 sections instead the current 4. For both version, EU and US.

Top quality asset, although, not a big fan of the tree (as @Atys mentioned). I could see the reasoning for that particular model as it was one of the few that didn't become thinned out next to water - however, now that the thinning out physic has been removed, the original one you used or another less imposing tree would be better.

I think that a version without tree, so that the players are allowed to seed others trees or not at all, would be a good idea :)
